San Diego Realtors MUST pay City Business Tax! - 02/15/12 08:13 AM
I recently received a bill in the mail from the city of San Diego demanding I pay $51 per year for a business tax. Since we are considered an "independent contractor", we must pay this tax. I've been doing business for almost 14 years in San Diego and have never heard of such a thing. I spoke to my broker and he was equally surprised. Bottom line, whether we like it or not, we must pay up. We consulted an accountant and here's what he had to say: Any person who files a Schedule C or just reports miscellaneous income subject to self-employment
