lewistonauburn real estate: Central Maine Real Estate 2013: The Year We Get Off Our Hands - 01/06/13 08:34 PM

The holiday décor is down; the kids are back in school; January’s social calendar looks amazingly clear (compared with the previous two months, anyway)… so, what now?  One suggestion I might offer: put some serious thought into acting on those financial New Year’s resolutions – at least the ones dealing with your Central Maine real estate plans.
Doing so would dovetail nicely with my own New Year’s prediction, one I share with many credible real estate watchers:
2013 may be the year buyers and sellers are going to really get serious about real estate.
According to Money Magazine on CNN’s … (2 comments)

Buying a Lewiston-Auburn Foreclosure Property?  “Fixers” Reward Prudence, Realism, and Cash

These days the words “bank owned homes” have become practically synonymous with a single word: “opportunity.”  With prices and mortgage rates this low, first time home buyers, investors and seasoned property owners alike are looking at a raft of buying options unlike any the Lewiston-Auburn and Central Maine area has seen in a very long time.

That option of buying a bank owned home has certainly opened a viable route for those looking to own a home at the fraction of what it cost just a few … (1 comments)

lewistonauburn real estate: “Foreclosure Listings: What You Should Know” - 01/30/12 09:57 PM

The bedrock of the residential real estate industry is the American Dream of owning your own home. Current market conditions have amplified another motivator: those looking for great investment opportunities. There have always been professional “Flippers” in the market but today shrewd buyers recognize that the current market conditions offer some outstanding investment opportunities in Lewiston-Auburn and Kennebec County. It’s not just professional investors considering foreclosures; many first time buyers and existing homeowners are looking for unusual bargains.
The appeal is understandable due to some commonsense consequences caused by the mortgage meltdown (and the headlines that followed).  When banks come … (0 comments)

lewistonauburn real estate: Residential vs Commercial Real Estate Agents - 01/16/12 02:38 AM

Few will argue that buying and selling real estate isn’t a specialized business transaction, or that when you want to buy or sell a property in the Lewiston-Auburn area, hiring a Lewiston-Auburn real estate agent isn’t the most common way to get the job done. It may be an excellent idea, but it doesn’t go quite far enough.
All real estate agents aren’t the same, because there are two types of specialists: residential and commercial real estate agents. At the Tanya Busch Team, we specialize: Cookie Dean, with years of personal commercial investing experience, handles our commercial sales and … (0 comments)

lewistonauburn real estate: Happy 2012! It’s Going To Be a Great Year! - 01/02/12 04:06 AM

I’ve heard it said that there are really only two kinds of people in the Lewiston-Auburn area: those who make New Year’s resolutions, and everybody else. Now that we are fully launched into 2012, humanity will have already separated itself into the two camps. One group is automatically removed from any possibility of failing to live up to any resolutions. And then there are the rest of us...
When I googled ‘resolution’ this morning I didn’t find any good synonyms but I did notice that the word has a lot to do with either A) the act of resolving or … (3 comments)

lewistonauburn real estate: Doubletake on Those Foreclosed home Numbers - 12/14/11 02:12 AM

Any informed Lewiston-Auburn homeowner (or future Lewiston-Auburn homeowner) is keenly aware of the national and regional real estate trends. It’s hard to avoid hearing about them, because the TV and print media headline them all the time. Often the headline angle of those reports focuses on “distressed” statistics, which deal with foreclosed home and REO (real estate owned) sales and prices. Even though our Lewiston-Auburn foreclosed home numbers don’t usually match the national statistics, the impression we come away with is nonetheless hard to ignore.

Those headlines and 10-second news bites are important because everyone hears them, and for … (0 comments)

lewistonauburn real estate: Thinking About Selling in Lewiston-Auburn? Where Do You Start? - 12/09/11 12:22 PM
If you've ever tried to sell a home, you know that marketing quickly reveals itself as the first critical element.
Whether you're listing your property for sale with a real estate professional or “testing the marketability” by going For-Sale-By-Owner attempting to navigate the Lewiston-Auburn real estate market, marketing is the top priority. Having a desirable property, well-situated and clean as a whistle will be irrelevant if potential realty buyers have no way to find out that your home is for sale.
The winter real estate market can be reached through several media outlets that are instantly available to advertise your home … (0 comments)
