Are you paying too much or even worse too little Real Estate commission? - 10/22/08 11:02 PM
Sounds strange, but if you continue to read you may understand why I ask the question.
In the past a lot of companies in British Columbia charged "typical commissions" in the neighborhood of 7% of the first $100,000 and 2 1/2% on the balance. With today's real estate prices this is a substantial amount.
This fact has given rise to the "Discounters". What a great idea, right? Discount companies vary in commission structures. Some Discounters offer very little to the Buyer's Agent. Could that have an affect on the number of showings you might get from Buyer's Agents? Could this in turn affect the selling price?
