The North Carolina Music Hall of Fame will open soon in Kannapolis near the North Carolina Research Campus. It will be located in the old Kannapolis jailhouse and will honor musicians, singer, songwriters and producers who have made contributions to American music and are from the state of North Carolina. With just four NHL teams remaining in the playoffs, the pressure is building. Cabarrus ReStore to Open in New Location - 05/07/09 01:45 PM
Habitat for Humanity Cabarrus County will reopen ReStore, the organization's retail operation specializing in recycling everything from toilets to knickknacks, at a new location at 2902 S. Cannon Blvd. in Kannapolis this month.
ReStore is moving from its 12,500-square-foot location on Beechwood Road in Concord to the new 21,000-square-foot warehouse on Cannon Boulevard, giving it a more visible location and room to expand.

Reel, along with the four other Cabarrus County Schools finalists, was recognized at the Gold Star Award breakfast, sponsored by SunTrust Bank.

Stamp Prices Rise May 11 - 05/06/09 12:54 PM
On May 11 the price for a 1-ounce First-Class Mail stamp will increase from 42¢ to 44¢. Prices for other mailing services - Standard Mail, Periodicals, Package Services (including Parcel Post), and Extra Services - will also change. The average increase by class of mail is at or below the rate of inflation as measured by the Consumer Price Index. City and rural carriers will collect food that will be donated to the Cooperative Christian Ministry, Salvation Army and Bread Basket food pantries. Just leave your donation of unbreakable canned or dried goods at or in your mailbox. Food also can be dropped off at all local post offices.
