Looking for New Year's Eve Entertainment nearby? Try comedian Jeff Dunham's show at Time Warner Cable Arena in Charlotte. The show starts at 7:00 p.m. and will wrap up in plenty of time for you to stop in a nearby restaurant or bar to catch the midnight countdown! If you really want to make a night of it, book a room at Charlotte's new Ritz Carlton (there were still rooms available when I looked online) or one of many other great hotels in the uptown area. Ride the Train with Santa - 12/22/09 01:08 PM
Tuesday, December 22 and Wednesday, December 23, visit Village Park in Kannapolis and you can ride the train with Santa Claus. The park is decorated with many light displays and you can take a train ride to see them. Ride the train to see the lights any night through December 31 for just $1. On December 22 and December 23, when Santa stops by, the rides will be $2 per person. Rides are from 6:00 p.m.-9:00 p.m. each night.

The North Carolina Transportation Museum has two different opportunities for train rides with Santa Claus between now and Christmas. You can ride the train with Santa while he hands out oranges and candy canes at various times each weekend between now and Christmas. Tickets are just $7 per person. Short Sales Get Easier? - 12/02/09 12:57 PM
New guidelines from the Obama administration might make short sales a little easier for homeowners.
The new program will encourage the use of short sales, transactions in which the borrower with lender approval sells the home for less than what is owed on the loan and make it easier for borrowers to voluntarily transfer ownership of properties through a "deed in lieu of foreclosure."
Short sales can result in higher prices than foreclosures and can be less damaging to local neighborhoods but are often extremely challenging to complete.
