The study which stands for Measurement to Understand Reclaassification of Disease of Cabarrus/Kannapolis is designed to find new ways to diagnose and treat chronic disease by studying human health at the molecular level.
David Murdock, founder of the NC Research Campus launched the study in 2007n when he gave Duke University $35 million.

kannapolis: First Annual Zucchini 500 - 06/18/09 11:52 AM
Don't miss this unique and fun event on Thursday, June 25th at the Farmer's Market at the NC Research Campus in Kannapolis, NC.  Registration is from 5:00-5:30pm with races starting at 6:00pm.  There are two age groups - 9 and under and 10 and up.  Bobby Waltrip, of the legendary Waltrip racing family, will call the races.  Bring your zucchini car to race and enter in one of the 5 categories.   Cars must be no wider than 10 inches and no longer than 12 inches.   The categories are:  Fastest, School Spirit Theme, NASCAR Theme, Most Nutritious and Overall Creative.

Congratulations to Cabarrus Economic Development
Congratulations on the recent award received by this organization.  Cabarrus EDC was one of five organizations to receive the Awards for Excellence in the biotechnology category by Expansion Solutions Magazine.  They recognize exceptional progress in development in the recruiting and retaining of businesses.   
The Cabarrus EDC has  played an active role in supporting the N.C.
