EDMOND — The Edmond City Council approved a rezoning request by real estate agent Darren Webb this week to convert a single family home into an office building.
The vote was 5-0 and also had unanimous approval earlier this month by the Planning Commission.
“The intent is to convert a house to a business. There will be a site plan review of that process,” said Bob Schiermeyer, city planner.

You don’t always get what you pay for …… sometimes you get MORE!! The cost of living in our fantastic community of Edmond ranks 6.6% BELOW the national average. The Cost of Living Index findings were recently released by Edmond Economic Development Authority and were published by ACCR (the Association of Community and Economic Development Research Professionals), ranked Edmond at 93.4% for the first quarter of 2012. However, this had increased 1.5% from same time last year.

“WASHINGTON, May 9, 2012 — Agriculture Deputy Secretary Kathleen Merrigan today (May 9th, 2012) announced awards to help States expand availability of wireless technology in farmers' markets not currently participating in the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP). Friday, May 18th, is National Bike to Work Day and in Edmond are celebrating in our usual BIG way with a 2 and a half mile peddle from the Edmond Festival Market to Hafer Park. Gathering for the event is at 7:45 am with the starting of the ride at 8:00. An Edmond Police escort will be at the head of the group and a truck following the end riders.
