The vote was 5-0 and also had unanimous approval earlier this month by the Planning Commission. “The intent is to convert a house to a business. But what do you do if your home (buying or selling) has an accepted purchase agreement and you’re waiting to close? You don’t always get what you pay for …… sometimes you get MORE!! The cost of living in our fantastic community of Edmond ranks 6.6% BELOW the national average. The Cost of Living Index findings were recently released by Edmond Economic Development Authority and were published by ACCR (the Association of Community and Economic Development Research Professionals), ranked Edmond at 93.4% for the first quarter of 2012. However, this had increased 1.5% from same time last year. The study done by ACCR measured similar price level for consumer goods and services. The average of all the comparisons equals 100%. We always remember to Shop Edmond at Christmas time,but how about now during the warmer months? You can have such a wonderful shopping experience in Edmond with our specialty shops, gift stores variety of retail and service stores, art galleries, antique stores and boutiques. By shopping in Edmond, keeping our money local, you are supporting your families, friends and neighbors. Our sales and property taxes support all of our public services, schools, community organizations and our local police and fire department. If you have a child who’s getting ready to head off to Oklahoma Baptist University, Oklahoma Christian University, Oklahoma City Community College, Oklahoma City University, Oklahoma State University – Oklahoma City, Redlands Community College, Rose State College, Southern Nazarene University, University of Central Oklahoma or University of Oklahoma, I’m sure you have been pricing dorms. However, have you thought about investing in your child’s future other than just paying for their college tuition? How about purchasing a condo for them to live in the two to four years or more of college life? You save on paying rental on a dorm (2 comments)

A recent article in the Wall Street Journal showed just that by ranking Oklahoma City Tops for Small Businesses. We’ve had our fair share of high rankings over the last several months in many categories like the Oklahoma deemed the healthiest city and Edmond the #1 Suburb in the United States just to name a few. May 18th is National Bike to Work Day! - 05/02/12 02:33 PM
Friday, May 18th, is National Bike to Work Day and in Edmond are celebrating in our usual BIG way with a 2 and a half mile peddle from the Edmond Festival Market to Hafer Park. Gathering for the event is at 7:45 am with the starting of the ride at 8:00. An Edmond Police escort will be at the head of the group and a truck following the end riders.
