I spent a good part of yesterday speaking with a leading rental agent in central Kentucky talking about the 2010 World Equestrian Games. And the question I had was, Is the anticipation of renting homes for $1500 a day and farms for even more overblown??. My experience tells me yes. I think when all is said and done, the event will be great but the people banking on a windfall will be diappointed. One thing for sure, being properly positioned be it for property sales or property rentals will be your best chance.

Took 3 more farm virtual tours that will be posted later this week. I tried a really bizare special effect that worked amaizingly well. It basically involved a deck around an observation tower. I went to all 4 corners of the deck and shot 3 photos aprox 90 degressof  each corner then stitched it together.  I couldnt believe how well it blended, maybe it was luck but it was cool anyway. Had several conversations today about Craigslist. How do they monitize it. They have an incredible number of eyeballs and could capitalize on it in a big way. Its such a peculiar approach to make you continually repost the same information over and over. Can you imagine thwe value they would bring if they had some very general demographics. Is there a demographic looking for nice horse farms? I dont know. We will include it in our ongoing strategy because of my personal experience and hard evidence.

Ive got some current statistics that would make your average Realtor ..it! One of the most important features of a Virtual Tour is the ability to track not only views but the url source of the views. I recently sold my house and yes I used a Realtor but what I showed him should be noted. One of the biggest problems with the MLS system is the inconsistency of the presentation. I have watched as the Internet has significantly changed the way properties are bought and sold.  10 years ago probably 30% of listings had photos.The other listings were in essence non existant. Got a chance to take a Virtual Tour for the Adena Springs Web Site. Finally got a clear day and the shoot went well. A highlight for me was filming the stallion barn as Ghostzapper napped. He was one incredible racehorse, easily the best of his decade. Agent Sites: I had a chance to update Cathy Davis's site kyhorseproperty.com . To be honest I had never looked at one of these agent templates before and I was pretty impressed with the capability, but for 95% of agents I dont think they have the ability to take advantage of the capability and the support for these sites must be marginal.
