Before the Midnight Hour - 12/29/10 11:54 AM
Before the midnight hour comes and we begin to store away all the decorations and stuff that reminds us of the holiday season passed take a moment to reflect on those events that added significance to you, your family or your profession. As for myself and family our wish to you is for a Happy New Year and many blessings in the days to come.

Texas Snow - 12/19/10 09:01 PM
The blue lights are falling impulses of light that give an illusion that it is snowing as seen from a distance.

The Man Tree - 12/18/10 03:09 PM
It's been quite fun in the Rain this past week as I have had the opportunity to share Christmas photos, traditions and Kodak moments. Today's blog is a combination of all three. The man tree, photographed to the left has become a tradition in our household. My husband is an avid Jeff Gordon fan. He's been Gordon's fan since the day Jeff Gordon started driving that Chevy DuPont 24 car for NASCAR. Our first visit together to watch the race out at Texas Motor Speedways was back in the year of 2004. He had been going with a group of

Christmas Present - 12/17/10 12:36 PM
Yesterday I wrote a blog about a Christmas tradition I enjoy and what it means to me. Today I am writing about Christmas present. Okay, I am guilty. I did buy myself a Christmas present. From the statistics I have read previously most of us do spend more than a few dollars on presents for one self. Yet that's not the present I refer to. I am referring to Christmas today as in the present. For the 2010 holiday season I bought for my Christmas tree, so see it's not really for me, these two cute little jingle bell snow people

This Little Soldier of Mine - 12/16/10 04:54 PM
This little soldier of mine is one of my cherished Christmas items. He's a plastic, red soldier who lifts his arm to play the musical horn when commanded either by speech or clapping of hands. He has been adorning my Christmas holiday for the past 16 years. The little soldier was a gift to me from my son who started a part-time job with Michael's during the holiday season 16 years ago. My grandchildren adore him almost as much as I do. I do hope that he adorns our holidays for many years to come.

One Shark Kodak Moment! - 12/15/10 07:30 PM
Can you believe it! Ten days until Christmas 2010 and ActiveRain along with Kodak has joined together to give back to the members of ActiveRain via a Kodak Moment contest. I know there are lots of great photographers in the Rain. I am going to throw in my photo shot anyway. Not because it's such a great photo but because it was truly a photo op captured in the moment. It happened one Christmas season... It was early in the month of December, 2009. The day was one of those beautiful December Saturdays common in the Dallas-Ft Worth area. My husband

Tuesday Tactics - 12/14/10 01:36 PM
The coming of the new year always instills a fresh new sense of hope. It's a new beginning. An opportunity to start over. Day one. It's the stuff that dreams are made out of. It has been my tradtion to write down my aspirations in a journal for the new year on the new day of the new year. Reflecting back over the passing of the former year often produces the seeds of change that I elect to plant for the new year. It's a process that grows with me as I grow whether spiritually, professionally or personally. Although

The Key - 12/13/10 12:03 PM
"The key is not to prioritize what is on the schedule, but to schedule your priorities." Stephen Covey I work well with a to-do list. It helps me to align my day with my tasks. Typically, I can utilize my time better knowing what tasks need to be done on any given day. But is that really what the quote above speaks about? Stephen Covey, author of 7 Habits of Highly Effective People, writes in his book about putting first things first. In fact, that is habit 3 of the 7 habits he writes about. With the holidays upon us and the end of

What's a Realtor to Do! - 12/11/10 02:02 PM
What's a Realtor to Do! Being a real estate agent has sure been an interesting journey. Often times the path leads me to unexpected places. I recently encountered an unusual request or at least it seemed unusual to me from one of my clients. They are in the process of buying a new home. They will not close in time to celebrate Christmas in their new home so they contacted me with their request. They asked if I would inquire for them the possibility of the sellers allowing them to have their holiday picture taken in the house they are buying.
