That sign is becoming a common site in the area. Many communities have implemented some sort of water conservation in light of the ongoing drought that has been plaguing Texas over the summer months. According to the local weathermen rain is not in our forecast over the upcoming week either.The City of Murphy implemented its Stage 2 Water Conservation on Monday, August 15th. Summer started off with temps in the upper 90's for the month of June but the record heat of 100+ days began with July on the 2nd of the month. It continued throughout the entire month well into August. And home sales in the City of Murphy TX suffered a drop during July in the local market.
For the month of July 22 single family residences SOLD which reflects a decrease of 21% from last month and no change over last year's sales in July. The top selling neighborhoods were The Timbers, Maxwell Creek and Daniel Crossing / Rolling Ridge Estates tying for 3rd.
