Murphy TX Goes to Stage 3 Water Restrictions
Stage 3 Water Restrictions will be implemented for all consumers of the North Texas Municipal Water District. The new restrictions will take effect on November 1st allowing only two watering days during each month, November 1 through March 31. The restrictions apply for watering with sprinklers or other irrigation systems. The city is encouraging home owners to place their irrigation systems in the OFF mode using only the manual mode on their assigned watering days. Home sales in the City of Murphy reveal a steady market which is good news for homeowners considering to sell within the next few months. A look at the statistics shows that 29 homes were sold during the month of August 2011. The average overall sales price was $281,698 and an impressive 74 days on the market average for homes sold.

MRC Home Tours Do Have Their RewardsToday was our monthly homes tour for MRC, Murphy Realty Connection. The morning started out with showers but by noon the sky was clear and the sun was bright. We meet at the Standard Pacific Homes in Maxwell Creek, Murphy. They provide us an awesome lunch and occasionally they do drawings. Today they were giving away three gorgeous baskets of goodies. To my joy and pictured to the right I was the blessed recipient of one basket.

TEXAS HOMESTEAD EXEMPTION Changes for the New HomeownersTexas Legislature has changed the requirements for new homeowners who apply for the homestead exemption in 2012. The new law which took effect on September 1, 2011 requires proof to be submitted with the application that the homeowner actually lives in the property they are claiming as their principal residence.
