Plano Housing Market - A Leaping Good Year! - 02/29/12 12:35 PM
Plano Housing Market - A Leaping Good Year! Home sales are on the rise in North Texas! Over the last several months DSNews has been reporting increases in the local housing market. The last quarter of 2011 maintained a trend upward. And that upward trend continues on into the new year of 2012. The pie chart represents the changes within price ranges as of the last quarter of 2011.  During the month of January 2012 the Plano-Murphy-Wylie area sold 164 homes with … (0 comments)

The Right Crowd - Activerain - 02/22/12 10:27 AM
The Right Crowd - Activerain!

Are you in the right crowd? You are if you are a member of Activerain. I have been a Rainmaker since 2008. It has been my pleasure to not only learn from all these great professionals but to also get to know each one of them. I have gained knowledge and understanding from so many blogs. Today I opted to re-blog a post on a subject I was needing a written explanation of rather than re-writing it myself. That’s one of many reasons I have stayed in the Rain. It is a source of many … (11 comments)

Understanding a Contingency on a Home Sales Contract - 02/22/12 08:12 AM
Before setting out on the task of writing a blog on understanding contingencies I searched the AR database and discovered this well-written, concise explanation from Connie Harvey. I couldn't of said it better!

Via Connie Harvey Realtor Nashville TN Real Estate (Pilkerton Realtors):
What is a Home Sale contingency? Can I still See the House?

When there is a contingency on any property,  it means that there is a legal and binding contract on the property but there remains something that the Buyer still needs to do to complete the sale.  It means that the Buyers and the Sellers … (3 comments)

The Option Period - What It Is - 02/16/12 10:49 PM
In my small community the population within has become increasingly diverse. As a Realtor® I need to be prepared to answer questions in a simple to understand explanation which Rose King has provided for the readers of the following blog.
The Option Period - What It Is
Via Rose King / Friendswood / Pearland Homes (United Texas Realtors):
Here in Texas, the real estate sales contract allows the buyer to pay a small fee (usually $100) for the right to terminate the sales contract for any reason, for an agreed-upon amount of time. This period of time is known as the Option … (1 comments)

How Does A Real Estate Agent Get Paid? - 02/11/12 02:41 PM
Like Tammie, I find this question to be one of the most misunderstood of the real estate transaction. We work hard for our money and can keep only a portion. Thanks, Tammie for writing this thoughtful post.
Via Tammie White Realtor® Franklin TN Homes For Sale (Benchmark Realty, LLC):
How Does A Real Estate Agent Get Paid?
This is a question that far too many real estate agents think consumers understand. Unfortunately, too often that is not the case.
Real estate agents are independent contractors which means we work on 100% commission. We do not get paid until the homes we are … (2 comments)

Proof is in the Staging - Home Star Staging - 02/10/12 12:04 AM
Proof is in the Staging - Home Star Staging The listing had been on the market for about two months with one of those months being December. Come January though the activity really picked up and we had more than our fair share of showings. Feedback was positive yet there always seemed to be some something that we could not get an offer. After more than a dozen showings the seller was getting a little anxious about no offers. We settled in at the dining table for a full discussion about a new approach. Our goal was how to go about … (12 comments)

Thankful Thursdays ~ In the Air Force - 02/09/12 03:59 PM

Okay he's not yet in the Air Force but he is in JROTC and a future member of the United States Air Force. Yesterday I had the opportunity to pick him up from a field trip to Sheppard's Air Force Base in Wichita Falls, TX. The students of the JROTC program spent a day seeing some of the daily activities of life in the services. I am thankful to have a grandson who is willing and preparing to serve for his country and mine.

First Signs of Spring - 02/07/12 06:23 PM
Yay! Signs of Spring are showing up all over town. I enjoy watching these Bradford Pears bud. By the end of February/first of March these trees will look like snowballs with their blossoms fully open and the green leaves are right behind. Come on Spring!
