St. Paul real estate reaches 700 - 07/25/07 07:02 AM

I just completed my 700th post on the St. Paul Real Estate blog.  It has been quite a ride.  I guess learning experience would be the best way to define it.  I never wrote that all important first post, and my only mission has been to figure out what the home buyers and sellers who live inside my computer want to read about and write it.  The internet seems to be littered with abandoned blogs and I understand why.  It does take dedication and I think having a system of sorts helps.  Having readers helps too.  I guess that is the … (19 comments)

. . . and a good time was had by all - 07/17/07 05:46 AM
Yesterday Sellsius came to St. Paul, MN.  I have to say those guys are a lot of fun and it was wonderful to meet some local bloggers and Active Rain members in person.  Here in Minnesota we have a fairly small group of real estate bloggers.  Also see Bonnie Erickson's post with more pictures and a slide show.
Rudy really likes his video camera, I know at one point I chased him around the picnic area with it.  I suspect that footage will end up on the cutting room floor.

Bonnie Erickson, and she really does smile . . almost all the … (23 comments)

The biggest shopping Mall in the United States - 07/06/07 05:12 PM

The Mall of America is half a dozen miles from my home.  It is a major tourist attraction but I don't go there often. You would have to see this place to beleive it.  People come from all over the world just to go shopping at MOA.  There are special hotel and airline packages just for travelers who want to do some serious shopping.
I went there today, I am not much of a shopper, and ended up calling a friend for help.  There are two parking ramps and a large parking ramps that accommodate 13,000 cars and the lots can … (9 comments)

How do you advertise your blog? - 07/02/07 08:52 AM
Funny question but one that I am often asked.  The answer is I don't advertise my blog.  I suppose by putting the domain name on my flyers, web sites and business cards I am advertising it but the number of people who have seen the domain name on my marketing materials is small in comparison to the number of people who visit my site.
The chart displayed to the left represents actual traffic to the St. Paul Real Estate Blog over the past two weeks.
The blog provides information of interest to home owners, buyers and sellers who are interested in real estate … (17 comments)

What Is The Biggest Barrier To Real Estate Blogging?By Teresa Boardman of St. Paul Real Estate Blog Earlier this week I conducted a kind of survey, and asked 25 real estate bloggers, which I defined as practicing real estate agents, mortgage, title and staging pros who blog, what they see as the biggest barrier to real estate blogging for agents.
The answer was writing, and it was almost unanimous.
What to write about and how to write it.
That came as a surprise to me because so many agents believe that blogs require technical skills. This myth is perpetuated … (16 comments)
