BusinessWeek names Gilbert "Best Places to Raise Kids" in Arizona - 11/11/08 02:54 PM
BusinessWeek named Gilbert as the best place to raise your kids in Arizona! In it's second annual report, BusinessWeek selected towns with at least 50,000 residents and a median family income between $40,000 and $100,000. They narrowed the list of towns using weighted criteria, such as: school performance; number of schools; household expenditures; crime rates; air quality; job growth; family income; museums, parks, theaters, and other amenities; and diversity. Because this report was looking for the best place to raise kids, BusinessWeek weighted school performance and safety most heavily, but also gave strong weight to amenities and affordability.
