real estate staging: I am Blown Away by the Information I have Garnered in the APSD Home Stager Training! - 06/20/11 09:24 AM
I have been in business as a Professional Home Stager for a couple of years now.  I initially took a Home Staging course and was certified & accredited by a home staging & training company in Canada.  Boy do I wish I had found APSD first!  I decided to take the course to become a Professional APSD Home Staging Trainer and in doing so I needed to take the initial Home Staging Certification training they have.  I have gotten so much more out of this training it is unbelievable. The other company taught me nothing about marketing.  I have had to … (3 comments)

real estate staging: Pay Attention to Color - 09/29/10 04:30 AM

Amazingly, people universally respond the same to different colors.  Therefore, color has a role in how we respond to a home or to an individual room. When preparing a home for sale, color can be the added factor that gives the home the wow factor you're looking for.
There are no hard and fast rules about color.  You can use almost any color.... the secret is the intensity … (4 comments)

real estate staging: SHOWCASE THE SPACE - 08/22/10 11:20 AM
One of the most important things you can do when preparing a home for sale is to ensure you give the home an open, spacious feel.  This can sometimes be difficult because most of us have too much stuff!   Now it's great to have those things you love and those you just can't live without when you are living in the home.  It's not OK when you are selling the home.  When a home is packed full of things that have accumulated over the years, it begins to appear and feel "small and cramped" to potential buyers. A general rule of … (4 comments)

Are they geographically different? Are they different from neighborhood to neighborhood and home style to style? The answer is Yes, yes, yes!.
In Every change made - in everything done, the question must be asked, "will your typical, or average, buyer be drawn to this?".  BUT, to accurately answer that question, you must know who your typical buyer is. Statistics show that the average buyers today are young families in their mid thirties.  … (0 comments)
