Okay it is just plain mean to make a cat wear a hat. That said, I couldn't resist. Living on acreage in Anoka County, we get some unusual visitors from time to time. A few weeks ago, our neighbor's three chickens (we have nicknamed them "the ladies") came up onto our front porch and clucked around below our cat's favorite perch. We bought him the hat so he could blend in with them on the next visit. He's not so certain he is pulling it off though.

There are still GREAT deals on many acreage and lakeshore home throughout Anoka County (and Washington County too)!The $8000 tax credit caused a flurry of activity at the end of the summer. With the original end of November deadline looming, people rushed to snatch up deals on acreage and lakeshore homes throughout Anoka, Chisago, Ramsey and Washington Counties. Speechless Sunday(Almost)--Do I hear a Gobble Gobble?? - 11/15/09 11:01 AM
I have never been a hunter but buying an acreage home in Anoka County does present the perfect hunting opportunity now and then. Sure we see a deer run through the yard (or in front of our car) now and then but sometimes the missed opportunities are just GOLDEN! Just a few days ago, I heard quite a commotion in my backyard. Just a few weeks prior to Thanksgiving and we have a rafter of TURKEYS make a visit. We counted at least 40 of them. Quite an opportunity to take a shot or two...with my camera! Enjoy!

Sometimes a flying flag doesn't affect us but on days like Veteran's Day when our country has just had a very vivid reminder at Fort Hood of how lucky we are that there are so many couragous men and women fighting to protect our freedoms, the flag means so much more. This flag flies over White Bear Lake near my office. Just one of many, many symbolic thank you's to our veterans.

Anyone interested in buying a home in the 55106 Dayton’s Bluff area, needs to pay attention to the December 31st deadline for this program too! It’s been a few weeks since I had checked the Dayton’s Bluff website for information on the Pohlad Homebuyer Assistance Incentive Program. This is the program that caused so much excitement for buyer’s in the 55106 zip code earlier this year. But this morning when I clicked over I got a very pleasant surprise! While getting ready for vacation a few weeks ago, I tested out our new camera and datacard on our cat. Muffin once again does not want to have a photo taken and is frankly board with the whole process. He yawned just as I snapped the photo. According to my teens, there is an internet theme of lolcats and cheeseburgers so they assured me that "Insert Cheezburger" was the best title for this shot.
