The Lost Wallet ~ A Small Drama in Cascade, Michigan - 06/29/09 12:45 PM
I had a busy, busy weekend.  Playing in a golf tournament plus entertaining
our daughter, son-in-law, and "cutest baby in the world" grandson who
were up for  the Grand Regatta Crew Races on the Grand River.  Summer is
such a great time for fun &  family events.

On Saturday night, we were hot and tired.  A trip to the local ice cream store was mentioned and
we all headed out to indulge ourselves.  We got our treats, sat around in the
shade eating them, and then headed back home to change  for the golf awards dinner.
When getting ready to … (12 comments)

Grand Rapids Michigan ~ June 2009 Top Best Buy Homes - 06/22/09 10:28 AM
The Top Best Buy Blogs that we publish are based on price per square foot,
which is one of the best ways to analyze a home for pricing.  For example,
if a subdivision has 14 homes for sale, and they are all relatively similar,
the price per square foot should be close together.  This doesn't always hold
true but it is a great leveler in the home resale industry.
Buyers should find out why they are being asked to pay $ 20-30-40 per square
foot more for the home they are considering than neighboring homes. Does it
have extensive remodeling, a … (2 comments)

Click on the photo for a quick view of the sunrise.
I got up this morning with the idea I would make my comments before the
the Family got up. Living in Michigan on the East side we don't see usually see
the sunrise over Lake Michigan.
We are in the Chicago area today visiting family.  When I saw the sun starting
rise I grabbed my Flip and just had to share the image of the sunrise.

It was a long story, we had it sold once but the buyer lost his job 3 days before closing.
Anyway, the seller decided to try someone else, it is common in our industry and sometimes
does the trick, especially if you lower the price!!!

The potential buyer told us she googled the listing address to see if she could find

Diary of a HUD-Owned Home Sale or How we spent 3 months on a Home Sale - 06/02/09 05:33 PM
Last February we received a call on a property that had been foreclosed on

purchase the house and rehab the property.
When we met the buyer, his thoughts were to purchase it and put

looking as his 401k, a smart use of what money he still had in his account.
In Michigan the process to buy a HUD-owned home is similar to a number of states.
