Well it has been quite a winter here in Ocean City. I am afraid we have brought the snow with us from Garrett County. The good news is that spring is not far away. It is beautiful on Sunset Island during the winter. It is quiet and peaceful. The gym has been great, like having your own private gym. The grounds have been kept in good shape with Frank & Mike doing their best to plow the snow off the roads. It looks like some of the piles may be here until April. They are calling for additional snow tonight. Although the temp. was up to 42 this morning, it is dropping and seems to be doing something out there now!

The real estate market has been quiet on the island. I think everyone is stuck in the Washington area and trying to stay warm by their fireplaces. There were some adventures out for the long weekend. I expect to see more activity here in the next few weeks. We have had the pleasure to meet our neighbors here on the island and are excited about being here. Our 2009 market update will be headed out to the owners soon. In January there were two properties that went under contract and 23 Sunset Island Drive closed at the end of the month for $450,000. There are 21 active listing on the island.

YAHOO it's Friday. Things are great here at Deep Creek Lake. The weather has been terrific and I got to play tennis with my daughter. This 40+ somthing beat a 20 year old 6 to 1! I am feeling good. We played at the Northern Middle School tennis courts.

I had lunch today with a colleague from Long & Foster at the Perkins at the Market Square Shopping Center. It was delicous. We enjoyed their new salad, called a Market salad. I had fresh apples, candied walnuts and grilled chicken with a raspberry dressing. If you are in town anytime soon, give it a try.

It is another gorgeous weekend at Deep Creek Lake there is alot of activities going on.

First there is the McHenry Highlands Festival (http://www.highlandfest.info/index.html) it is time to enjoy the celtic celebrations and listen to the bagpipers.

The Baltimore Raven Cheerleaders were in town. Sorry that you missed them and if you love yard sales, it was a big weekend here in Granstville. Keep your taste buds ready and we will keep you posted. The Grantsville Volunteer Fire Department regularly holds a BBQ chicken and rib dinner located at their new firehall location on Rt. 669. Herrington Manor State Park had their annual Fishing Rodeo Today. Wisp had a Downhill Race at the Adventure Park that is part of the Gravity East Series.

But do not dispare. You may have missed a bunch of activities this weekend, but next weekend we have the 2009 Relay for Life of Garrett County. This runs from June 12th to June 13th at Southern High School. This is a signature event of the American Cancer Society. We are proud of all those who participate in this annual county event!

The Chamber of Commerce Annual Dinner will be held on Thursday June 11th. For more information please call 301 387 4396. Enjoy a dinner with county business leaders and government officials plus live music.
