I guess I should have said Fall Shrubs but they do put out wonderful flowers.  The wild Lantana shrubs that grow almost all over Texas and I am sure they must grow wild in other states as well sure put out beautiful flowers.  There are at least six different colors of the Lantana flowers and they do bloom almost the year round in the lower part of Texas.  We have four different flower colors.  The little flowers are so delicate and dainty and have more that one color in each flower.  The pictures here were made in our back yard today … (18 comments)

TODAY'S BACK YARD DEER - 09/29/10 07:38 PM
I guess that these Whitetail Deer thank that live here and that's OK with me because I love to see them in the yard each day.  The numbers vary from day to day but the two does and their two yearling 's are here each day.  I notice that they hang around the garden area even though it is fenced off and for good reasons.  They also like to eat the acorns under that 200 year old Live Oak tree.  They don't seem to care if I am out in the yard doing yard work but they do stop eating until I … (14 comments)

LINDBERGH'S FLIGHT---Never before seen flim clips - 09/28/10 10:47 AM
The credit of this filmed set of clips goes to Win Perkins a real estate appraiser who specializes in airport properties.  This video series is posted on his web site and he created Charles Lindbergh's famous risky takeoff and flight in the Spirit of St. Louis on the competitive trip to Paris.  According to Mr. Perkins this is unlike any other  presentation of the takeoff footage.
Perkins said he " painstakingly assembled news footage from five cameras that filmed Lindbergh's takeoff from Roosevelt Field, Long Island and mixed it with enhanced audio from the same newsreel sources."

Volkswagen's New $600.00 Car - 09/21/10 09:09 PM
With VW's new $600.00 car to hit the market soon it should make for some very cheap transportation.  I don't think that they can make enough to fill the need in America.  It will get you to work and back very cheap at 258 miles per gallon.  However it is only a one seat vehicle and very small but top speed 74 miles per hour.  The safety rating is very high made of carbon fiber and is not painted to save money and weight.  The power plant is a one cylinder diesel with 404 distance miles on a full tank of less … (7 comments)

Wild Turkey Pictures - 09/18/10 06:30 PM
Well again you just never know what will pop up in the road as you travel the back roads.  Today Saturday I needed to check on a property that my wife had sold and closed on Friday and to remove some items that were not wanted by the buyer.  While returning back to the office over this little country road I spotted a flock of wild turkeys and was able to get a few pictures.  They are nothing special but a lot of people never get to see wild turkeys in the country.  The pictures below were made this afternoon at 4:00pm.

SO YOU WANT TO RENEW YOUR TEXAS LICENSE ONLINE - 09/11/10 02:18 PM
Well I am sure that if you have tried to renew your real estate license or other Texas State license online you have had a lot of trouble.  The trouble is the TREC On Line Services Site it is not fully operational at this time.  Even if you have contacted TREC and they said you can renew online you cannot.
After contacting TREC a few times while trying to renew my brokers license and telling me where to go to use the online method without success I had thought about telling them where to go.  But as all things seem to … (6 comments)

SIDEWALK DEER - 09/08/10 09:54 PM
As I looked out the front window this afternoon there were about eight deer in my front yard feeding on the scrubs and grass.  We received four and a half inches of rain on Monday and Tuesday and everything that grows sure greened up in a short time.  The deer love to eat out of the flower beds and the wild persimmon trees.  The persimmons are ripe now and falling off of the trees so it brings the deer into the yard to eat them. They get ripe at the same time as the acorns fall from the oak trees and … (12 comments)

Purple Sage Plants in Texas - 09/08/10 08:42 PM
The Purple Sage plants that grow wild in Texas and bloom when it rains no matter what time of the year.  Sometimes they will bloom before it rains and that leads to the old story that you can predict rain by watching the sage as it blooms before a rain.  This does happen a lot but it for sure blooms when it rains.
We had four and a half inches on Monday and Tuesday and as I looked out the front of the house I could see the sage in bloom next to our neighbors drive. They will be in full bloom on Thursday … (6 comments)

Each year on Labor Day weekend the annual Intertribal Pow Wow is held in the little Texas town of Bandera. With tribe members of many different tribs scattered over many states they come together to honor our freedom and the ones that have made America what it is today.  They honor the men and women who have served America and the ones that are in service now.
They come to honor the May 9, 1847 Treaty between the Comanche nation and the German Immigration Company.  This treaty between the Commissary General of the German Immigration Company, John O. Meusebach  on behalf of … (11 comments)

Ride The Longhorn - 09/04/10 10:22 PM
WOW! How would you like to ride a Longhorn Steer?  I guess it would be better than riding a Longhorn Bull and I am sure the couple pictured here at today's Bandera Parade loves spending time training these two to ride.  These pictured are only two of 100 that I shot today at the Annual Indian Pow Wow in Bandera Texas.  There were members from many tribes that attend this event each year on Labor Day Weekend.  I am going to post more pictures and information this weekend.
