LOOK NOT INTO THE PAST - 12/30/10 09:32 AM
Yes, I know we need to look into this past year to reflect on our success and failures but do not dwell on the mistakes.  You will learn more from the celebrations of the success that you had and what you did right than the wrongs or mistakes that were made.  I am not an authority or scholar of the great writers but there are a few writers and poets that have made great wisdom quotes that I keep in my mind.
One such poet was Henry Wadsworth Longfellow and one of his writings has been lodged in my mind for many … (8 comments)

MEDAL OF HONOR WINNER---COURAGE - 12/27/10 12:53 PM

Subject: Courage.     Courage.       You're a 19 year old kid.  You're critically wounded and dying in the jungle somewhere in the Central Highlands of Viet Nam . It's  November 11, 1967.  LZ (landing zone) X-ray.   Your unit is outnumbered 8-1 and the enemy fire is so  intense, from 100 yards away, that your CO (commanding officer) has ordered the MedEvac helicopters to stop coming in.  You're lying there, listening to the enemy machine guns  and you know you're not getting out.  Your family is half way around the world, 12,000 miles away, and you'll never see them again.  As the world starts to fade in … (4 comments)

DOE OR BUCK ??? - 12/23/10 10:33 AM
Ok, this is just a test, take a look at this young deer in my front yard eating what is left of the green grass and tell me if you think it is a doe or a buck.  Tell me why you think it is a either a buck or a doe and we will see how many get it right.  I think that most of the men will know as soon as they study the photo.  The photo was made through a front window so the image is not very sharp, sorry about that.
