A friend of mine (Jean Bradley, for those of you who may know her) handed me an article a few minutes ago. The article begins with a quote from Abigail Adams, wife of the 2nd President of the United States, John Adams. Here's the quote - "These are the times in which a genius would wish to live. It is not in the still calm of life, or the repose of a pacific station, that great characters are formed." Who would have thought that what was said more than 200 years ago would ring true in today's trying economic times? The (3 comments)

Looking for Leads in All the Wrong Places Are you sitting on a gold mine? Do you manage your database and work with your past customers? If you answered no, let me ask you this: are you willing to give your customer database away? Would you sell it? Seems to me it is pretty valuable. Did you know that that the average peson in the US will own 4 homes within his/her lifetime? Did you know that the avergae move from residence to residence is 13 miles? People are not moving from Raleigh to Rochester, but from 4th Street to 8th (0 comments)

They Say You Should Never Talk Politics at a Business Meeting... They say you should never talk politics at a business meeting. But, when we are in the middle of an historic election, and with markets (real estate, mortgage, stock) on a roller coaster ride (mainly downhill), what else is there to talk about but politics? As I travel the country and talk to groups, it's very important that I remain nonpartisan in my comments and support. It's great that everyone is talking about the campaigns and voicing opinions and having the discussions. Regardless of the opinion, at least people (5 comments)
