MATHEW 10: 14 MY FINAL BLOG - 07/29/08 06:17 PM
And whosoever shall not recieve you, nor hear your words, when ye depart out of that house or city, shake off the dust of your feet.
I am using the King James version of the bible for my final blog out of respect for my friend Bill Burress. Any of you who are familiar with the story know that I feel he was railroaded and because I see the same thing happening to me I am going to leave on my own. I have felt for a long time that the management of Active rain held a strong anti christian bias … (78 comments)

THE BEGINNING - 07/28/08 08:16 PM
GENISIS1:1 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.
I think that more than any other line of scripture in the Bible, more time money and energy has been spent on trying to disprove that line. But no one has been able.I would much rather believe that God created it all from nothing than believe nothing created it all from nothing, the second theory is just not logical.
GENISIS 1:27 So God created man in his own image, in the image od God he created him; male and female he created them.
Now I know they have been trying … (6 comments)

PRAYER REQUEST PLEASE - 07/27/08 07:16 PM
Some of you have been following my Blog for awhile, some of you not so long. One thing I am usually reluctant to do is to ask for prayer for myself. I know many people do pray for me regularly and I am eternally grateful, but actually asking is something i don't do easlily.
This time I am asking. I just sent off an introductory EMAIL to a recruitment committe at a Church looking for an assistant pastor. Two things I know for sure. FIRST, I'm sure that I do not yet possess the qualifications they thought they were looking for.SECOND, … (18 comments)

TIME - 07/26/08 09:37 PM
The Lord only gives us so much time in this world. The thing is that we never know how much time that is going to be untill it's too late. Tommorow is never promised. If you knew this was your last day on earth would you.
Fight with your spouse
Yell at your kids
Belittle your coworkers
Give up time with your family for more time at work
WOULD YOU HAVE TIME FOR YOUR LOVED ONES AND FOR THE LORD.
This is an email that was sent to me and bewarned it's a tearjerker.

PRAYER REQUEST - 07/26/08 09:05 PM
Christopher Laurie, the son of Pastor Greg Laurie and hiswife Cathy of the Harvest Christian Fellowship in Riverside California died in a car accident this week. This link will bring you to a blog that goes into much more detail but I would like to offer up my prayers for the Lauries family. For Chrisstophers wife and daughter and for Greg and Cathy. May the Lord be strong in their presence and envelop them with the peace and comfort that can only come from God. I pray this in the name of Jesus.

PRAYER - 07/25/08 10:29 PM
What is prayer but talking to God. The ancient Israelites prayed at specific times throughout the day and night. Even the Angels bow down and worship the Lord. God is our Father, What parent does not appreciate the chance to converse with their children. I believe man was created to fellowship with God and be part of his family. I also believe we were born to serve God. But I belive that He is happy when we spend time in fellowship with Him. It doesn't have to be at specific times, it can be many times throughout the day. If we … (1 comments)

MY THOUGHTS ON THE ROLE OF THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT - 07/25/08 10:19 PM
THINGS I THINK THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT SHOULD HAVE CONTROL OF.
1) THE ARMED FORCES AND NATIONAL SECURITY
2) REGULATION AND CONTROL OF UNIFORMITY OF OUR CURRENCY
THINGS I THINK THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT SHOULD STAY THE HELL OUT OF.
1) EVERYTHING ELSE
I believe the federal government is just one big money pit.I think all other decisions should go to the states. If you don't like the road your state is traveling down you can move to another state but not many of us wantto move to another country. I believe we have the greatest Armed services in the world. But Ibelieve … (7 comments)

MATHEW 27: 50 - 07/24/08 09:13 PM
" And Jesus cried out again in a loud voice and yielded up His spirit."
We need to remember Jesus life wasn't taken from Him. He offered it up, He layed his life down for US. Those spikes didn't hold him to the cross, he held on to the spikes until the time had come for Him to yield His spirit. Our Lord has conquered all for us, including death.
WHAT HAVE YOU DONE FOR HIM LATELY?

BRINGING THE ENEMY TO HIS KNEES - 07/24/08 08:11 PM
I am taking a course called the Leader of one. Although it is a course on leadership since it is part of the Biblical Studies curiculum alot of the course is focused on turning us into spiritual leaders of our own life first before we can be leaders of others. The course is taught by the Dean of the school DR. Michael Lake( from who'm I recieve much of my inspiration) but todays lesson really struck a chord, I felt an awkening of the Holy Spirit as I listened to Dr. Lakes lecture about keeping your mind focused on the word … (14 comments)

Shema Yisrael - 07/24/08 07:59 PM
DEUTERONOMY 6: 4-9  Hear , O  Israel; The Lord our God, the Lord is one, Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. These commandments that i give you today are to be upon your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. Tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads. Write them on the doorframes of your houses and on your gates.

GALATIANS 2:20 - 07/23/08 10:55 PM
I have been crucified with Christ, It is no longer i who live but Christ who lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God who loved me and gave Himself for me.

The Lord moved so strongly in Paul, he lived a truly inspired life. This is as good a description of what it feels like to be saved as you will find. Paul was and still is an inspiration to millions. But it is not because he was anyone special, but because he allowed the … (6 comments)

THE RELIGIOUS RIGHT IS RIGHT THIS TIME - 07/23/08 10:02 PM
Sorry about the cut and paste but I think this in an excellent artice. The source is "OneNews NowCom". Obama is now courting Christians and I find it almost laughable except that some are buying it. I believe Barack will say anything to get elected and to  be able to implement his socialist agenda. The problem for him is that the voting record he has ( As small as it may be) shows a completely diffferent Obama. We need to spread the word whenever possible.

THE MOST IMPORTANT WORDS YOU CAN EVER SAY. - 07/19/08 09:34 PM
In the back of every Gideon Bible is the plan for salvation. There is the prayer to accept Jesus and a place to sign your name and date it. This is the most important prayer anyone can ever pray in my opinion.
MY DECISION TO RECEIVE CHRIST AS MY SAVIOUR.
Confessing to God that I am a sinner, and believing that the Lord Jesus Christ died for my sins on the cross and was raised for my justification, I do now receive and confess Him as my personal saviour.. If each of us prayed this prayer with just one person … (8 comments)

I JUST LOVE THE PAULINE EPISTLES - 07/19/08 09:26 PM
I think it is , at least for me, impossible to read any of Pauls letters and not come awy with somethingto just inspire you as a Christian. I have written many times that Paul is my hero and my inspiration. After ou Lord Jesus of course if there is one person from history i wish I could have dinner with it would be Paul. First because  Paul shows that no matter where you are in your life, the Lord can transform you and use you to do great things for the kingdom. And secondly because he showed such a selfless … (2 comments)

MADE ALIVE BY THE LORDS GRACE - 07/17/08 12:27 PM
EPHESIANS 2
1:And you He made alive who were dead in trespasses and sins.
2: In whichyou once walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit who now works in the sons of disobedience.
4: But God who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us.
5: Even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ(by grace you have been saved).

WHY ARE WE AS A COUNTRY TURNING AWAY FROM GOD - 07/16/08 08:47 PM
This country was founded by people who wanted to live in a country where they had religious freedom. They didn't want government putting restrictions on how they could worship their God.It was written right into the constitution that congres shall pass no law that regulates religion. The whole fallacy of seperation of church and state is a 20th century idea brought on  by sa secular society that wants you to only worship the material things that they feel they can provide for you. The problem is that history shows us what happens when  a country turns away from God, and starts … (11 comments)

DO YOU REALLY LOVE ONE ANOTHER AS THE LORD LOVES YOU - 07/14/08 10:14 PM
We all have people in our lives that we don't care for. We tolerate them when we have to and then move on and tell ourselves what good christians we are for being pleasant to them. But being pleasant is not what God commands of us. God commands us to love each other. The last time you spoke with someone you don't really care for did you try to share the good news of Christ with them? If you truly loved them wouldn't you want to share the gift of salvation with them? Are you doing enough to be a good Christian witness? Are … (7 comments)

ONLY THE GOOD DIE YOUNG(THE REST OF US MUST KEEP TRYING) - 07/13/08 08:19 PM
Only the good die young. Besides for it being a Billy Joel song I have heard that phrase many times and I am starting to wonder. There is a young women with three children from our church who has been battling cancer for a long time. She is the sweetest most giving loving person you will ever meet. About 8 month ago the doctors thought it was about over for her. Instead she stopped treatment and put it in the Lords hands. The elders and pastors annointed her and layed hands on her at our cancer vigil and miracuously the tumors started … (7 comments)

IS IT POSSIBLE TO BE RIGHT WITHOUT LEARNING TO BE WRONG - 07/13/08 07:35 PM
I have been involved in more than my fair share of debate on Active Rain. Not all of it pleasant. I am sure sometimes many of us just want to get under one anothers skin. But one thing I have learned is that my favorite people to debate with are the ones whom I respect. People who truly believe their points of view and are just trying to help me see the light. This is the position I try to debate from.Ther are folks on AR with whom I can agree about very little if anything yet i try to be respectful … (6 comments)

COMFORTING OTHERS AS THE LORD COMFORTS US. - 07/12/08 09:22 PM

3: Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the father of mercies and God of all comfort.
4: Who comforts us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comforet those  who are in any trouble, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.
5:For as the sufferings of Christ abound in us, so our consolation also abounds through Christ.

First off I would like to be clear, I have never met Nick. We talk on the phone quite often and are in AR contact almost daily but I have never met him in person. As far as worldly things go i don't think we have a great deal in common, but our spiritual bond is amazing. I,m not even sure why I am writing this but i know there is a reason. I know the Lord is using us and that he has plans we do not yet know about. I talk to him about things that I normally only … (12 comments)

FEAR NOT CHRISTIAN SOLDIERS - 07/11/08 10:06 PM
2TIMOTHY 1:7 For god has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love an of a sound mind.
How many more scriptures can you think of where we are told not to fear or that we have nothing to be afraid of. Fear is a foolish emotion which does nothing to advance Gods kingdom. Tell me your favorite verse which dispels fear and gives you strength or comfort.I likePsalm 56 v 3-4. But there are many, so read them meditate on them, thank the Lord for them and thenmove foward."The harvest is plentiful but the workers … (4 comments)

TO GOD GOES THE GLORY - 07/10/08 10:03 PM
You may notice that my signature usually contains a statement about giving God the glory in all we do. All to often I think, we like to take credit for the things which God does through us.We foget the attitude of humility which Jesus taught us. Even when someone is complimenting some good work you have done and you remain silent or brush it off, you are still accepting the praise through your silence. I think it is better to answer with some thing along the line of' The Lord used me powerfully today, praise God". It is not easy but … (6 comments)

PRAYING IN PUBLIC - 07/09/08 10:57 PM
We talk about personal witnessing. We talk about shining Gods light to those around us. We talk about living life in a way that people will notice something different about us. I have written about my refusal to be a stealth Christian. Well lately I have had a couple of opportunities to do something that my prayer partner onced told me, and it really does go a long way to accomplishing all those things.
People around us who know we are Christians tend to come to us with prayer requests even  if they are not quite believers themselves. Often it … (8 comments)

I was praying for something to get the blood flowing again. Well the Lord has answered know I need prayer for the strength to do it all. But I am very psyched. I figured a couple of Ibuprofen and in a couple of days I,d be okay. WRONG. It's now saturday night and i know its not just gum pain. AN INSPIRATIONAL SONG - 07/04/08 06:53 PM
I'm sure that the other day wasn't the first time I ever heard this song on the radio, but I am also sure that it had never touched me quite the same before. That is one of the reasons I love to listen to Christian Radio. You never know when the Lord will use it to speak to you. Anyway if you are ever feeling a little down in the dumps or defeated this is a great song.
