Cedar City Happening..Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat - 05/31/12 10:17 AM
The Cedar Valley Community Theatre is presenting “Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat” beginning tonight and running through June 4th.  This is a fun  Broadway styled production that will take place at the Heritage Center Theater.  Curtain is at 7:30 PM, the box office will open at 5:30 each day of the production.  There is no play on Sunday June 3rd.

Cedar City Subdivisions..Indian Hills Market Update 5/31/2012.. - 05/31/12 09:58 AM
The name isn't very Politically Correct, but it is a very nice subdivision in the Cedar City Real Estate Market.  Indian Hills is situated on the South East side of Cedar City.  This is another very stable subdivision, there are currently two homes listed for sale.  This is a small subdivision of custom homes, built in the early to mid 1990's.  They are at the base of the hill.

Cedar City Subdivisions..Stanworth Market Update 5/30/2012.. - 05/30/12 09:07 AM
 
I have mentioned in other posts that the 1970’s brought quite a bit of building into the Cedar City Real Estate Market.  The Stanworth subdivision is another of those late 1960’s to early 1970’s subdivisions.  It was built in a time when most of the homes being built were built as brick homes.

The Cedar City Real Estate Market has some very desirable subdivisions to live in.  Jefferson Park is one of these, it is built of executive homes that are definitely move up or even the Mc Mansion type homes.   This subdivision has some of the nicest homes in Cedar City.  It is located west of Cedar High School.

Today in sales meeting we had our local representative from First American Title come in and teach us a little more about mortgage wraps or All Inclusive Deeds of Trust.  This is an instrument that is getting more and more usage in our market.  What is an All Inclusive Deed of Trust?  It happens when a seller sells their home that they still have a mortgage on using seller financing.

Cedar City Subdivisions..Cedarwood Terrace Market Update 5/22/2012 - 05/22/12 09:10 AM
Cedarwood Terrace is another of subdivisions that were built in the Cedar City Real Estate Market in the 1960’s and 70’s.  It is located near Cedar High School just off of 300 West.  Most of the homes are brick or have a lot of brick in them.  I have heard the style described as the Atomic Ranch House.  It is a neighborhood that is centrally located in Cedar City.

The Solar Eclipse - 05/21/12 09:36 AM
 
Yesterday was the solar eclipse.  I have to admit it was really impressive to see!  It was my first attempt at photographing the sun.  We made a filter out of mylar to be able to actually see the eclipse to take the pictures.  We couldn’t get away from the solar flares, but you can see it was still pretty cool! 

It sort looked like a large bright eyeball!

In the Cedar City Real Estate Market, there is one Subdivision that is a 55+ community, Crescent Heights at Mesa Hills.  This is a subdivision within a subdivision.  It is part of Mesa Hills.  One of the nice things about Crescent Heights is that it is a walled community, and is at the top of Leigh Hill.  The new city reservoir is just South of the community.

Groovefest Support Party - 05/19/12 12:15 PM

Cedar City Subdivisions...Cove Ridge Market Update 5/19/2012 - 05/19/12 11:40 AM
The Cedar City Real Estate Market has some great smaller subdivisions.  Cove Ridge is one of those, it doesn’t have a lot homes, but the homes that are there are really nice ones.  Cove Ridge is staying in the same general area of town as the two Black Rock Subdivisions.  Cove Ridge is comprised of what I would call move up style homes. Cove Ridge is a subdivision that is still relatively new, and is a nice area with some great mountain views.

Light at the End of the Tunnel..SR14 - 05/18/12 07:01 PM
There is light at the end of the tunnel!  Last October a massive landslide destroyed a section of SR14 in Cedar Canyon.  This is a major road, providing access to Duck Creek, Mammoth Creek and Cedar Breaks National Monument as well as to Kanab and even Lake Powell.  It has been closed since the landslide. 
Several weeks ago construction began to repair the road and provide access.  The target was to get the road open by mid to late summer.  On Thursday, May 23rd at 3 PM a dirt road will open up and provide access to those destinations.  This … (15 comments)

I have mentioned before that the Cedar City Real Estate Market has a few subdivisions with detached single family units mixed in with twin homes or duplex styled homes.  The Terraces at Black Rock is another of those mixed subdivision in Cedar City.  It is a newer subdivision built in 2005.  It is another subdivision that saw a lot of sales to investors initially.  It is on the East edge of the Black Rock Subdivision.

Cedar City Happenings...Solar Eclipse - 05/18/12 09:47 AM
As many of the astronomers know, this Sunday there is going to be a solar eclipse.  The place to be to see this natural wonder is none other than Kanarraville, Utah.  It has been said that Kanarraville is the best place to view the eclipse.  The small town of Kanarraville is excited about being the epicenter of such an event.  There are estimates of up to 40,000 people expected to show up in Kanarraville to see the eclipse.

The Cove Subdivision is one of the gems in the Cedar City Real Estate Market.  The Cove Subdivision is a mature subdivision built in the early to mid 1980's.  It is made up of single family detached homes.  It is still a very nice subdivision.  Homes vary in size, and as the subdivision was built in phases, there are some homes that are a lot newer than the original homes.

Cedar City Subdivisions...Black Rock Market Update 5/17/2012 - 05/17/12 12:15 PM
The Cedar City Real Estate Market has a few Planned Unit Developments, or PUD’s, The Black Rock Subdivision is one of those.  This is a well maintained PUD in so much I thought that it was newer than it is.  Black Rock was built around 1996.  I thought that it was built around 2000, but I was mistaken.  It is comprised of detached single family homes that are generally 3 bed 2 baths with anywhere from 1200 to 1900 square feet depending on the model.

Cedar City Subdivisions...Stone Gate Market Update 5/16/2012.. - 05/16/12 11:06 AM
In the Cedar City Real Estate Market we have a few townhome subdivisions. Stone Gate is one of the newer townhome subdivisions that we have here in Cedar City.  Unlike most of the others townhomes, many of these townhomes have basements.  Like Eagle Point, it is located in the Northern part of Cedar City. 
These units were built in the past couple of years, some finished this year.  These are large units with just over 2000 square feet.  They are located near the Movie Theaters at the North End of Cedar City

Eagle Point is another tremendous asset in the Cedar City Real Estate Market, this great condo complex is located at the North End of Cedar City.  It consists of two story and single story units.  The two story units were built in the mid 1990′s and are typically around 1600 square feet.  They boast fairly large bedrooms and a single car garage.

Darcy and I spent a wonderful day in Orange County.  It is such a beautiful area.  The weather was absolutely beautiful, I am sure that it was a little cool for the locals, but to us it was about perfect!  We did manage to wander over to Huntington Beach.  I was amazed at how few people there were at the beach for a Friday afternoon.  Anyway, I will let you see for yourself!

Hello!  The C Team is taking a couple of days to visit Darcy's mother for Mother's Day.  We traveled yesterday, and today are enjoying a gorgeous day here in Victorville.  We are considering a trip to the beach, I know that it is supposed to be cloudy there, but we just don't have beaches in Cedar City.  That is the nice thing about being on a mini vacation, if we don't go to the beach, that will be okay also.  Anyway, Have a great day!

Life Without Active Rain...... - 05/08/12 10:42 AM
We wrote our first Active Rain post on October 11, 2007.  At the time I had no idea what I was getting into.  I also had no idea what I really had when we joined Active Rain.  It was a lot smaller community then, there weren't a lot of groups and nowhere near the membership that we have now.  I will admit that our blog writing was pretty inconsistent, some months we would post several blogs, other months, not so many.

The Cedar City Real Estate Market has several subdivisions that were built in the 1960 and 1970’s.  Cedar Crest is one such subdivision.  It is located near the Old Hospital, close to almost everything in town.  This is a subdivision that has seen a lot of investors buying rental properties.  There are also several homeowners that live in the subdivision.

Cedar City Subdivisions...Grant Market Update 5/7/2012 - 05/07/12 09:30 AM
In the Cedar City Real Estate Market, the Grant Subdivision is another one of our mixed subdivisions.  There is a mix of detached single family homes with some duplexes.  The Grant Subdivision was built in the mid 1990′s.  There are quite a lot of investor owners in this particular subdivision.
There is currently one single family detached home listed for sale in the MLS at $95,000.

The Cedar City Real Estate Market has a few subdivisions that are very small as far as the number of homes within the subdivision.  The Pinewood Estates subdivision is one of those small subdivisions.  It is a subdivision which is comprised mostly of Manufactured homes and honestly consists of 6 homes.  There is one lot that is still vacant. 
Pinewood Estates is located on the south east side of Cedar City.  This is a subdivision that dates back to the early 1980’s, it has been a very stable subdivision, nothing is listed for sale in our Multiple Listing Service nor has … (0 comments)

I didn't really do anything for Star Wars Day, May the fourth be with...etc.. I did want to stop and wish everyone a safe and happy Cinco de Mayo!  According to that trusted source of information, wikipedia, this Holiday here in the U.S. is to celebrate Mexican culture and pride, and the wonderful additions that have happened in our culture stemming from the influences of the Mexican People.  The holiday of course is also a celebration of the Victory over the French in The Battle of Puebla, establishing Mexican Independence from the French.

The Cedar City Real Estate Market has several high end subdivisions.  Wild Flower is certainly one of those.  Wild Flower is built on the West side of Leigh Hill, it does offer some great view from some of the lots.  It is near the new Aquatic Center, and construction began in 2000, so it is a newer subdivision. In the Cedar City Real Estate Market there are a few subdivisions that are homes on acreage.  Harmony Mountain Ranches is one of the premier of these type of subdivisions .   Harmony Mountain Ranches are a newer subdivision most homes were built in 2009.
