Juniper Haven is another of our mature subdivisions. It was built mainly in the mid 1970's, but there are some older and newer homes in the subdivision. This is an extremely stable subdivision in our market, there has only been 1 home sell in the past year in this subdivision and there are currently no homes listed for sale in this subdivision.
Juniper Haven is towards the South end of Cedar City, it is East of Main Street, yet still close to shopping and most everything.

One of the reasons that we chose to go to California for our vacation was that we wanted to go to Disneyland. We both like Disneyland and so that became part of our Christmas presents and we went. We also went during one of the largest rain storms in recent memory in Southern California, everything got wet, especially us! Our camera got wet enough that it worried us that we shouldn't use it so here are just a couple of photos from the rain at Disneyland.

Lamplight is a mixed subdivision of twin homes (duplexes) and detached single family homes. It was built around 2005, so it is one of our newer subdivisons. It is mostly starter homes, and has been popular with both investors and first time home buyers.
There are currently 8 homes listed for sale in our MLS ranging in price from $104,900 to $145,500.

This subdivision suprised me a little. I thought that it was newer than it is. Black Rock is a PUD that was built around 1996. I thought that it was built around 2000, but I was mistaken. It is comprised of detached single family homes that are generally 3 bed 2 baths with anywhere from 1200 to 1900 square feet depending on the model.
There are currently 5 homes listed for sale in our MLS ranging in price from $120,000 to 160,000.

Ironwood is an established subdivision in Cedar City that is just East of the Bicentennial Softball, Soccer and skateboard Park. It is near the Walking Trail that follows along Coal Creek. The subdivision was built in the late 1970's and it is a little rare to find homes for sale in this subdivision. Homes do come up every once in awhile, but usually only one at a time. There is currently only 1 home listing for sale is at the $145,000 price.

I just wanted to write a post about the training that our office had yesterday in St. George. The trainer was Bob Davies. It was very interesting. It was not industry specific training, rather it was a training about why we fail in our goals and aspirations. He had a lot of scientific genetic reasons why regardless of our best intentions, it is human nature to resist change to the point of our detriment. It was interesting!

Today is August 20th, the dog days of Summer are quickly coming to an end. High School Football begins tonight through out Utah. Soon we will be enjoying the beautiful colors of Fall. Along with the colors will come cooler temperatures and much shorter days. Enjoy the Summer while it lasts, soon we will be seeing scenes like this!(which are also very enjoyable!)

I have been a little lazy with my blogs about what is happening in the Cedar City area for the past several weeks. I need to get better at that! This weekend is the Rennaissance Faire and Street Festival. The Rennaissance Faire is already under way with booths, games and fun. The Street Festival will beging tomorrow afternoon and end Saturday afternoon, it is run along with the Rennaisssance Faire as far as location goes. There will be booths and lots of cool cars.

I saw this article on MSNBC.com and wanted to share it with you. It does contain a couple of D'oh lines about why these incredibly low rates aren't stimulating housing sales, but in all I find it interesting that our rates are still at record lows. If we could just get consumer confidence back, (that and job security) sales should start to rise. I personally don't think we will see an almost nationwide boom like we saw 5 or 6 years ago, but a healthy increase annually would really be nice!

This vista always reminds me of the song, Green, Green Grass of Home. This photograph is taken looking West from the Cemetery in Torrey, Utah. My parents Graves are 15 yards East of where I stood to shoot the photograph. I really believe this is one of the most scenic Cemeteries in the World. It is taken looking North West towards the town of Torrey.
And again I'll touch the Green Green Grass of Home.
My late father was born and raised in beautiful Torrey, it was fitting that he wished to return for eternity.

Darcy and I each participated in the virtual REBar camp today, what a great experience! It is at least 3 hours in any direction for us to participate in a camp like this, so having it online was great. I really enjoyed learning from great teachers like Jay Thompson, the Phoenix Real Estate Guy. There were so many others, but his class on blogging was just outstanding!
The only mistake that we made was that we went to the office to listen to/participate in the camp, and there are a lot of distractions that take place in an office setting! Other … (12 comments)
