One thing that I have noticed is how many of the seemingly unimportant things in life come to my attention any more. This morning, I had to go to Costco for some things. How is this significant? Although we loved living in Cedar City, a trip to Costco was about a 100 mile round trip. There was no stopping in because we were out of something, it was an all morning or afternoon event. I am writing this during the my cool down. I have decided as part of my daily routine I needed to get in some exercise. To help me with that, my beautiful wife, Darcy gave her blessing for us to purchase a really nice piece of workout equipment. The only real problem is that it wouldn't fit through the door! It was assembled when we bought it, and I didn't really want to disassemble and reassemble it.
The new torture device, I mean gym. Not the fancy product to keep the weights from rolling away!

A week ago Darcy and I attended Agent Reboot in Anaheim, California. It was a great opportunity to learn how to better use the tools of technology to grow our business. One of the main points that came out of it was that it was a good idea to post your blogs in several places, but you should have a main “hub” for those posts. I have in the past attempted to do this but began thinking that it was a little too much work....

As some of you know, we are currently in Anaheim. We have attended the Inman News sponsored Agent Reboot session. We chose to drive from Bountiful to Anaheim. It works out the best for us and our dogs,. It allows us to have someone watch the dogs who they are familiar with as we drop them off in Kanarraville in Southern Utah. That isn’t the point of this post.

This trait of happiness is another of the things that mother tried to teach me as I grew up. Happy people choose their friends wisely, they tend to associate with happy people. There is some truth to the axiom that you are who you associate with. When we find ourselves in a group of happy people, we tend to be a lot happier. The trait that Happy People have for this blog is as difficult as any of the other traits that are listed on this list of traits. When it talks of avoiding social comparisons, it means that we shouldn't be compariing ourselves and are circumstances with someone else. It is the "keeping up with the Jones'" mentality. What makes doing this trait even more difficult is that all of the advertisments in the World do this. Even in our own business we are asking people to move up, down size or choose the right neighborhood.

The next trait on the list of traits of happy people is get absorbed into the present. This has been quite a fine list of traits and suggestions from our neighborhood newsletter. This is a trait that I have heard expressed in many different ways. It is a trait that I have noticed in every happy and successful person that I have met. Truly happy and successful people are busy people, let's face there is a lot to do in any given day. That doesn't stop a happy person from being absorbed in the present.

I mentioned in the last post that the list was entering the part of the list of traits that happy people have which are difficult. Happy people don't make excuses. I have brought this up in other posts, but everyone makes mistakes, it is part of being human. Happy people own their mistakes, they learn from them and they move on. This is the way to improve your life and your abilities.

We have all been told that we need to have big dreams to help us find the success that we seek. This is a perfect day to show this happiness trait. Sunday is a great time to express gratitude for what you have been blessed with. Whether you choose to attend Sunday Services or not, it is still a good day to take stock of what you have.
