This is Sal's friend;This is Sal's 34+ year old Friend;This is Sal's treasured Snow Thrower;This is no way a simple 'snow-blower';This is the Beast that almost took me straight up the 1/2 mile street in Harrison Twp many years ago;This is the "Thrower" that lived up to her name when a Novice--Me--attempted to maneuver it ["Her"];I was totally able to start, move into first gear [ie: forward], & the all important "Stop" position. As many of you are aware this November we here in Macomb Co. voted for our new County Exec...so the Business atmosphere should be clearer & hopefully well supported. The next Executive is Mark Hackel--present MC Sheriff;He did a good job as the head of the Security for our county & seems bent on bringing this County into the 21st century. Writing about Oakland County Business Movers; I must open with the "Chronicles of Narnia" theme at Twelve-Oaks Mall for this Christmas season:...seen on the Local 4 News earlier, we were alerted to the magic 7:00 p.m. arrival of Santa;...we were also taken on a tour of the theme areas;...one special area is "The Snow Globe Room"--where you as the shopper, are inside a huge Snow Globe;...'eatable' snow will start falling at the magic hour--the windows / glass areas that surround are actually screens where 'clips' of the new Narnia film will be sown. Wayne Co.--Bakery offers new item......the Just Baked co. in Detroit is offering the "way to Have your Faygo & Eat it Too": today saw the grand presentation of their New Faygo Cupcakes....the folks at the bakery decided to offer these new goodies in the Three favorite Flavors;...what Faygo Fan could pass up on Red Pop, Orange or Grape Cupcakes.More power to them at the bakery--this should be a great addition to their line of bake goods. Look for more innovative approaches from JustBaked. Co.Metro Detroit Malls are seeing "Green" for this Christmas Season......local Malls are expected to spend more on Displays for this (4 comments)

The three items above have been the "reason for being out of commission" since the 5th of November........normally not one to 'give-in' to external attempts to shut me down;...usually able to snap-back with vigor;...freely finding ways to conquer any air-borne germ; found that Zinc, Zicam, & zippity-do-dah attitude did not work A shopping trip to one of our local Walmarts [which I like] on November 1st,... found a one woman-germ factory who gaily went about the aisles [mainly grocery] sneezing & coughing. all the time explaining to a phone-friend, that, "yes I do be come down with something-- the rest in her native language other than "I go home (4 comments)

VETERANS DAY....A DAY TO REMEMBER, RECALL , RESPOND... No one needs to be reminded that tomorrow is Veterans Day;There were times past when this day was a 'given' school day-off;Some businesses & offices were closed in observance of those who gave their ALL & those who are willing to so do; Mail was suspended;Only necessary retail entities were open.These days--other than U.S Mail service & Governmental Offices, being closed-- are 'business as usual'...that may strike some as wrong;...that may strike some as a 'so what' item;...that may strike some as 'what's new';...that may strike some who are Veterans, or Active Duty Military (7 comments)

This week has gone by with a quickness that usually brings forth the quote "we must be having fun....",you know the rest of the words. After the Vote on November 2nd, actually thought that time would slow down a bit, what with no more ads screaming at us; no more phone calls; no more flyer's in the mail.But, didn't anticipate the speed with which the parties are already planning for the 2012 election runs. Seniors this is our time; our golden years; We have paid our dues; have worked hard; raised our kidsNOW, GET OUT there and Party : Travel; Take the little one for a walk--THEN send him back home!!No matter where you live, we Seniors are the same;... Most of us are experienced in so many things--after all we did live before Cell Phones;...with no computers [except for those of business that took up whole floors at work];...in One Car families; ...actually knew how to take a bus all around our area;...some even remember the Blue Sundays where all stores were SHUT; We lived (9 comments)
