baxter village: Relocating to the Charlotte Area - 01/20/11 10:26 AM
It is amazing the number of people that continue to relocate to our area with their jobs and to get closer to their family. Many folks relocating to the area are trying to figure out where to live which is typical of anyone moving to a new area. When looking to purchase a home folks should consider distance to work, schools, convenience to many amenities such as shopping, restaurants, hospitals and proximity to interstates. Many newcomers coming to the area will try to figure out on their own even though they don't know much about the area. Since the purchase of a home (2 comments)

baxter village: Coupon Crazy (actually Coupon Smart) - 01/10/11 10:55 PM
On Saturday night we decided to run some errands including a stop at Harris Teeter for some groceries just in case it snowed. As soon as we walked into Harris Teeter we thought there was a party going on and we were crashing it. There were people everywhere and the excitement and electricity wasn't over the anticipated snow, but it was over coupons! It was crazy and I can only describe it as a coupon party going on. Women, and men, were stopped in the aisles talking about the various coupons in their possession, the triple couple deals, the various ways to organize (2 comments)

The asking price you set for your home significantly affects whether you will profit in the sale, how much you will profit and how long your home will sit on the market. Your real estate agent's knowledge of the overall market and what's selling - or not selling - will be invaluable in helping you determine the price. The objective is to find a price that the market will bear but won't leave money on the table. Here are some points to consider: Time. Time is not on your side when it comes to real estate. I continue to be amazed at the power of the internet and so much of our business is generated by our use of the latest technologies. February ended up being a record month for The Guilliams Team for the number of searches done on our website for potential buyers. The internet is a strong tool and we strongly recommend that if folks are not comfortable or familiar with it you need to get that way because it is the future and the future is here. Not too long ago if folks were looking for a home they would contact a realtor and spend hours (0 comments)
Hard to believe that we are in the holiday season, but ready or not here it is. People are decorating their homes, putting up the Christmas tree and thinking about all the gift giving they plan to do. During this time of year shopping can quickly become a frustrating task, but make it fun and special to find the perfect gift for the people you are blessed to have in your life. As I start thinking about the shopping I will do I plan this year to try and stay away from the hectic pace of a big city and enjoy the (0 comments)

With the interest rates of late being so low we had been discussing refinancing our home. After doing some checking and getting various quotes on interest rates we decided this was something we needed to explore. After finding one of the lowest rates around we worked with a lender to get a good faith estimate and much to our surprise we decided that refinancing would save us a tremendous amount of money each month and over the course of the loan. Refinancing may not be an option for everyone, but it certainly is something that everyone should consider. There are a lot (0 comments)
