Having reliable people on your team makes the difference! - 01/29/10 12:05 PM
I was sitting here this morning thinking about how fortunate I am that I have a reliable team of people around me. From the agents on my team all helping each other to our escrow officer working to get a deal closed, all are so important to our company and its high success rate. We have a handyman named Mr Happy who we can call whenever something needs repaired, a title rep who is always available to answer questions, a lender who keeps us up to date and a Home Warranty Rep who is around as well. It makes like so

3900 MARBLES or How Many Saturdays Do you Have Left?? - 01/29/10 11:52 AM
Via Kathy Schowe (The Lori Bowers Group): I read a story today about an older man who was trying to relate the importance of savoring each and every moment of your life. He said he had a theory to help him prioritize-- And that's when he began to explain his theory of a 'thousand marbles.''You see, I sat down one day and did a little arithmetic. The average person lives about seventy-five years. I know, some live more and some live less, but on average, folks live about seventy-five years. 'Now then, I multiplied 75 times 52 and I came up with

He Made $1Million Last Year and He Wants to Short Sale - 01/29/10 11:51 AM
Via Kathy Schowe (The Lori Bowers Group): There must be alot of misinformation floating around about what happens in a Short Sale. The general public has heard of them-- and like the perfect golf swing, they think they know a little bit about them. For the most part, I have found that a large percentage of people...accountants, lawyers, bankers, Realtors, included... have many different ideas about what happens in a short sale and when it is a viable option. Most people don't know how to grip the club. Much less, hit the ball. I have a client who came to me and

California has 5th highest unemployment rate in the nation, what about our valley? - 01/25/10 12:56 PM
California's unemployment rate stayed at 12.4 percent and the nations rate was 10 percent. Every city in the Coachella Valley has been hit by unemployment and job loss. Sams Club in La Quinta announced they are closing and therefor many people are going to be laid off. In Mecca, one in four people are without a job. So what is they key to turning around our market? We have to find ways to bring more jobs into our areas. We have to find ways to keep people employed. Do we need to stop outsourcing our jobs to different countries in order

Do you have a hole in your pocket? - 01/25/10 12:04 PM
I was reading a little business fact in the paper and it really struck me! It said that the average person spends about $21 a week without having any idea where it went. That adds up to $1,092 a year that we lose somehow.....How many times do we think about the money we spend without realizing it.? How many times could we have filled up our gas tanks or treated ourselves to a small vacation with the money we spend without thinking... Do you ever stop and think about the amount of money we waste? I know it really hit me

LA QUINTA COUNTRY CLUB IS THE PROS FAVORITE! - 01/22/10 11:17 AM

It didn’t hurt that McNeill shot the lowest round of the day at the course — a 7-under 65 — but fellow pros echoed his praise. They are pleased that the course has rejoined the rotation at the Bob

Bob Hope Classic Cancelled for Today in La Quinta Due to Lots of Rain - 01/21/10 01:07 PM
The Bob Hope Classis in usually sunny La Quinta, California is cancelled today due to persistant rain since yesterday at 3 PM and still raining hard. This is so strange for La Quinta where the sun shines nearly everyday and warm sunshine is the name of the game. Now in La Quinta there are flooded roads, 60 degrees temps, leaky roofs, and water flowing on streets, sidewalks, patios, yards, fairways, and as far as you can see. La Quinta is in an area where people barely have umbrellas muchles raincoats. How long will it take for the larges underground aquifer in

My clients live in their home full time-- and it is a $1.25 M listing.... Do buyers really think they can just drop in on people with such little notice? Is the market dictating this bad behavior? The best loans for Canadian foreign nationals buying homes in La Quinta and Palm Springs are for vacation homes. A vacation home is a home you intend to use for recreational purposes during a portion of the year and do not derive any monetary benefit from ownership. This means you do not rent to a tenant and you will have to sign a disclosure to this effect. As a Canadian, you will need 30% down payment and 3-6 months liquid cash reserves. To get this, you multiply your monthly payment by 3-6 times. You will show 2-3 months bank statements showing funds
