La Quinta is doing well with 306 sales for the first quarter in 2010, pushing a 31 percent increase year-over-year from 2009 and 28 percent from 2008 when 238 sales were reported. Thomas believes there are signs of fairly good recovery, given the list-to-price ratio at 93 percent. Sales price is up 7.2 percent, (1 comments)
Via Tina Droessler (La Quinta, CA ~ The Lori Bowers Group Desert Properties): Attention La Quinta Home Buyers: My Loan Officer at Franklin Loan Center in Palm Desert presented me with a copy of Ten Commandments for Borrowers. As funny as the presentation is, all of the "Commandments" hold truth. 10 Commandments of Applying for a Mortgage 1. Thou shalt not change jobs, become self-employed or quit your job.2. Thou shalt not buy a car, truck or van (or you may be living in it).3. Thou shalt not use charge cards excessively or let your accounts fall behind.4. Thou shalt not spend money (1 comments)
Another Wave of Foreclosures in La Quinta? - 05/13/10 10:59 AM
Tina, thanks for the great info. Gradually things are lokking up....let's hope it stays that way! Via Tina Droessler (La Quinta, CA ~ The Lori Bowers Group Desert Properties): Is there going to be another wave of foreclosures in La Quinta? We've heard it for the past year, there's going to be another wave of foreclosed properties coming on the market. Last spring we waited, last summer we waited, we are still waiting. What is happening to all of the foreclosed properties in La Quinta? No one knows for sure the exact number of properties banks have to sell. One thing is for (0 comments)

Via Tina Droessler (La Quinta, CA ~ The Lori Bowers Group Desert Properties): From short sales to foreclosures, long waiting periods to multiple offers. Has La Quinta's real estate market hit bottom? Has La Quinta's property values increased? Is it still a buyers market?
In La Quinta's ever changing and challenging real estate market, these are all great questions. But do you know the right answers? It certainly takes a story to answer all of these questions but luckily there was a great roundtable discussion recently here in the Coachella Valley assessing the real estate market and reported by The Desert (2 comments)
Keeping the "Real" in Real Estate - 05/05/10 12:38 PM
Times are tough for everyone in this economy. We have all had to buckle down on our spending in order to adjust to the challenging economy, but do we really have to lower our integrity to get a listing? The idea of overpricing to get a listing is nothing new, we have all seen it before. Home Sales are up! 20% increase in sales in La Quinta compared to 2009! In February 102 homes sold in La Quinta alone! Overall there is a 9.4% increase in home sales throughout the Coachella Valley, which is better then a decrease. Other Coachella Cities are also showing more sales for the month of February. La Quinta 102 homes sold Desert Hot Springs 89 homes sold Indian Wells 19 homes sold Rancho Mirage 42 homes sold Although the numbers are not off the chart, we are showing signs the worm is turning! I love this kind of news dont you? (2 comments)
