ACORN Housing - Helping Consumers Avoid Foreclosure by Loan Modification - 05/06/08 01:10 PM
In a previous post I asked Realtors if anyone knew about Acorn Housing and if they had heard any success stories. Surprisingly, I heard nothing which is strange for AR. I contacted the Center for Responsible Lending and was told this is most likely the best option and better than many other outfits currently available to help consumers. As I mentioned in the last post, I was pleasantly surprised that their website was correct and easy to navigate AND the numbers on their website were actually correct. I had called another organization where the phone number listed was a fax number. I can (3 comments)

I've recently been on a quest to help the people who call in who are upside down in their house. I called HUD and Neighborhood Works and was led to Acorn Housing. Has anyone worked with this group directly and heard of a successful workout with a lender? The group actually picked up the phone which was different from the other organizations I tried to reach. They say they have weekly seminars for people who are needing loan assistance. I was impressed overall with their friendliness and their program. I do not currently have any knowledge of a consumer who has gone through (1 comments)
