One of my favorite townhome communities is located in Pooler, Georgia... just a short 20 minute drive to dowtown historic Savannah and mid town Savannah. One of Savannah's most charming older neighborhoods, Gordonston is located on the east side of Savannah. The newest neighborhood in Savannah to be named to the National Register of Historic Places, Gordonston is definitely worth considering. Nestled between Skidaway Rd to the south, Pennsylvania Avenue to the east and Gwinnett St. to the north, this subdivision formed in the early 20th century boasts a variety of architecture from Neo-Classical, Colonial Revival to Arts and Crafts style homes.

Beautiful overhanging trees draped in spanish moss, manicured lawns, beautiful and unique homes and the Juliet Gordon Low Park make Gordonston one of Savannah Georgia's most prized jewels. Named for the noted Gordon family of Savannah, their most famous family member being the founder of the Girl Scouts, Juliette Gordon Low. Grays Subdivision is a small and quiet neighborhood on Savannah's Whitemarsh Island just over the Thunderbolt bridge and about 5 minutes from Wilmington Island and under 15 minutes to Tybee Island,

Georgia. You'll find a variety of homes on wooded lots from around 150,000 to upwards of 500,000 for waterfront views of beautiful Grays Creek. Many homes were built in the 60s, 70s and 80s as well as new construction, with styles ranging form brick range to low country. A great family neighborhood thats small, quiet and very convenient.

The Battery Point neighborhood on Whitemarsh Island in Savannah, Georgia is one of the most affordable communities in the Whitmarsh Island and Wilmington Island areas. Just under 10 minutes from the downtown Savannah historic district, yet only a 15 minute drive to Savannah's beach at Tybee Island. Shopping and restaurants are nearby as well as the Island's YMCA. Most homes range in price from around 140,000 to 200,000 and offer a variety of styles from low country to brick range. Many homes are built around beautiful lagoons and have rear decks to sit out and enjoy the view. If you are looking for island living at an affordable price then Battery Point is a Savannah neighborhhood to consider.

Ardsley Park Neighborhood

Ardsley Park, one of Savannah's most popular neighborhoods began around 1910 with the advent of the automobile becoming Savannah, Georgia's first suburb. Just a ten minute drive from the downtown Historic District, Ardsley Park - Chatham Crescent was added in 1985 to the Register of Historic Places. The design is similar to that of the Historic District which was planned by Savannah's founder General James Edward Oglethorpe, laid out on a grid of landscaped parks and squares.

Most of the homes were built in the first half of the 20th century and are a mixture of large two story homes and smaller "bungalows". Savannah's first suburb, laid out in 1911, is a mixture of prestigious four and five bedroom mansions and quaint, craftsman style bunglalows situated on tree lined streets. The borders of Ardsley Park seem to be an ongoing debate. Because of the enormous popularity of the neighborhood it's not uncommon for people to debate what's "true Ardsley Park" and what's "Ardsley Park adjacent". I understand the original boundaries were Victory Drive to the north( originally called Estill Avenue) to 55th St. to the south and Bull St. to the west and Habersham St. to the east but today the eastern boundary is mostly considered to be all the way to Waters Ave.

Ardsley Park has become one of the city's hottest neighborhoods and real estate prices typically average from about 250,000 to $350,000 to upwards of a million for very large homes. Located about 10 minutes from both the southside business district and the downtown Savannah historic district, makeing Ardsley Park very convenient. Only about a 20 minute drive to Wilmington and Whitemarsh Islands and under 30 minutes to Tybee Island, Savannah's Beach. Adjacent to Ardsley Park you'll find one of Savannah's largest and most popular parks, Daffin Park.

Ardsley Park is a true walking neighborhood with sidewalks, manicured lawns and mature trees. If you have an appreciation for older homes with lots of character then Ardsley Park is a neighborhood that you'll want to explore.

Just outside of Savannah, Ga in Pooler is a new community of single family homes and townhomes called Godley Park. Amenites in this gated community include, clubhouse, pool, fitness center, playground parks and lagoons. These low country style homes are squares give an old world feel to a new homes community.

Townhomes range in price from around 115,000 for 2 bedrooms to the 180s for 4 bedroom/3 bath townhomes and single family homes from the 150s to the 200s. The location is convenient to I-95, the Savannah International Airport and the shopping at The Villages of Godley Station and just a short commute to midtown and Savannah's Historic District at less than a 30 minute drive.

Built between 2003 and 2005, Stonelake town homes offer's newer units with a variety of floor plans both single and two story and most of the one story homes have vaulted ceilings. You'll find a variety of features and upgrades depending on the unit from wood floors to open kitchens with solid surface counters, and master baths with separate shower and garden tub. Some town homes have a lagoon view from your patio or screened porch or a private, wooded view.

Prices are currently ranging from the 120s to the 160s for two, three and four bedroom townhomes.

The community is nicely landscaped and well maintained and has a community pool and children's playground. Shopping is just a couple minutes away at the Berwick Plantation shopping center.
