Let's get something straight, the law has been fulfilled.  I believe when Jesus said in the gospel of John 19:30, "it is finished," He was talking about the Law.  
Coincidencely the sacrifices of animals by the Jews ended around this time.  
Hebrews 8 is one of the best chapters in the bible to know by heart.  It can't be any clearer from Hebrews chapter 8 that as a Christian we are not under the law.
Another book to understand the relationship between the expectations of the law and our faith in Christ is Romans.

Would God be offended?
 
For 23 years I have been asking this question about my relationship with God.
 
Although it took 19 years I knew God would be offended if I entered his throne room drunk.
He has given me the hope to believe I could be free from that addiction. And I am.
 
I was deceived for many years that marijuana was ok as a Christian.  Would God be offended if I entered His throne room stoned.

What did Revelation Chapter 3 impress upon me.
 
In verse 10 our Lord states: "Because you have kept My command to persevere, I also will keep you from the hour of trial which shall come upon the whole world, to test those who dwell on the earth."
The hour of trial is the tribulation of Gods wrath on earth for turning away from Him. ( See past examples, Noah, Sodom, Nineveh )  
Christians will be removed from the earth before this takes place. 1 Thessalonians 4:17

I am reading, and studying, Norman Geislers' book, Baker Encyclopedia of Christian Apologetics.  It's an 800 page book addressing world views that deny Christ message of who He is:
