delaware valley: Delaware Valley: Free WiFi Access In Metro Philadelphia - 01/26/08 02:51 PM
When I first obtained a wireless device that had WiFi capabilities, I thought that I would have free reign of WiFi access in public areas, expecially at such places as restaurants, coffee shops and airports.  However, I soon found out that while the WiFi access was provided, the use of that WiFi was not usually free, such as at Starbucks and the airports.  If access was indeed free, there were limits in quality of signal, restrictions on bandwidth and types of access, as well as not always providing convenient locations.Philadelphia has been talking about having citywide WiFi capability, but nothing concrete has … (0 comments)

These two studies go a step beyond earlier findings.  Radon is a natural radioactive gas that you can't see, smell or taste. Its presence in your home can pose a danger to your family's health. delaware valley: Human Rights and Discrimination: Know Your Rights and Responsibilities - 01/09/07 02:13 PM
Human rights (human relations) is an issue that we take very seriously in the real estate industry.  The federal government and all states have laws and regulations protecting it.  Human rights understanding and awareness is part of all state licensing and advanced licensing training, and included as part of state licensing examinations.  While there are federal regulations that all licensed agents are required to uphold, states usually have additional, more stringent human rights regulations. Federal and state governments have established Human Relations Commissions to administer those regulations,  monitor their compliance and to take action against abuses.  Fair Housing regulations by HUD (U.S. Dept. of … (0 comments)

delaware valley: In Search Of The Great Philly Hoagie - 01/01/07 08:15 AM
Call it what you may: Sub, Submarine sandwich, Italian Sandwich, Hero, Torpedo, Zeppelin or Grinder, there is something unique and special about the Philadelphia (or Philly) Hoagie.  Some of it has to do with the type and freshness of the bread, or with the quality of the meats and cheeses or the type and quality of the oil and condiments. But the properly assembled combination, while reproducible throughout the Delaware Valley, is difficult to obtain outside of the region.  The Hoagie, a form of the submarine sandwich (or sub), is unique to the Philadelphia / Delaware Valley area.  It generally consists of an elongated roll (called … (1 comments)
