The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) advised taxpayers that in most cases they will not have to do anything extra this year to get the economic stimulus payments beginning in May."If you are eligible for a payment, all you have to do is file a 2007 tax return and the IRS will do the rest," said Acting IRS Commissioner Linda Stiff.The IRS will use information on the 2007 tax return filed by the taxpayer to determine eligibility and calculate the amount of the stimulus payments.The IRS will begin sending taxpayers their payments in early May after the current tax season concludes. According to a Wall Street Journal Online / Harris Interactive Personal Finance Poll, 90% of U.S. adults plan on retiring, but 22% of those adults have not started making any retirement plans. Just received an email update from my state Realtor association (NJAR) reminding me about the Federal Trade Commission's (FTC) ban on pre-recorded sales calls that the FTC begins enforcing in 2007.  I'm posting it here to let everone know whether you're a Realtor or engaged in any other business...According to the reminder notice, "The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) will begin to enforce its rules against pre-recorded sales calls, unless the calls meet a narrow exception.
