Learn the Steps Involved in Refinishing Hardwood Floors - 02/25/09 08:22 AM
Spring is approaching and many homeowners are considering whether to refinish hardwood floors before they put their home on the market. As the owner of My Handyman, I've learned that you really want to call in the professionals for this job. I learned my lesson the hard way by trying 2 jobs myself, with rental equipment. Unfortunately noone using this equipment cares about it, and combined with unfamiliarity (remember every car reacts a little different), the jobs didn't go well ... and I paid for another company to redo our work. Now I partner with flooring companies to deliver this service (8 comments)
Giving Back to Your Community - 02/19/09 01:14 PM
Shaw's Supermarkets has come up with an innovative way to keep them top of mind. Many in NH are well aware that we get coupons to save $0.10, $0.20, etc off our gas at Irving, based on the size of our Shaw grocery bill. They also let you register your Shaws card, with pre-defined donation allocations to non-profits you want to support (up to 4 of them). I've been supporting Habitat for Humanity for several years. Today I received an invitation to sign up and donate a percentage of my grocery receipts from Shaws (or Star Market in Massachusetts). The process was (2 comments)

Letters We Can Save in a Shoe Box - 02/05/09 06:44 AM
I've gotten some great responses to yesterday's post about Online vs Offline networking ... and unanimously, you are talking about RELATIONSHIPS. Howevewr, Terry Driscolls's response really grabbed my attention so I had to share with everyone. "... I remember sitting in an ethics class in High School (I'll just admit it was in the 70's - Terry, I graduated in 1968) and the teacher talking about a FUTURE where people could stay in their people pods, order everthing they needed and it would transport to the pod, work from their pod, and basically, never have to leave their pod. How are Online Relationships Different from Offline? - 02/04/09 06:16 AM
Yesterday I attended an all day meeting. I tried to connect to the web but response was sluggish and I gave up. Some withdrawal at not getting to my morning reading, posting, ... What struck me was how radically my world has changed as I've moved into the online world, building my network here on Active Rain, LinkedIn and Facebook (Twitter coming soon & I love all the little buttons you are adding to your posts and profiles). This made me wonder how relationships are changing? How different are the relationships we're building online from more traditional relationships built through netoworking (38 comments)

Hi everyone, This is a rather unusual request but you're such a great bunch of people, I just have to make this simple request for help. Just 5+ minutes to complete a survey to help me finalize the name for my new business, along with prioritizing the type of content (articles versus Q&As, best books & websites, etc) we'll put on the website first.
Survey at http://www.surveymonkey.com/s.aspx?sm=_2fQShrZo8BeFVqIIQ_3d_3dTN9eJo ... yes the link is live but just in case someone has trouble getting it to work. (0 comments)
