After much prodding from my wife, I have broke down and bought my newest toy!  I just got a 2000 Electra Glide Classic!
I love riding, but gave it up when we had kids.  I knew there would be no time for me and my bike, so I made the decision to stop riding.  My wife has always pushed for me to do something for me.  Not for her and the kids, but for me (yes I know she is a one-of-a-kind!).

BAD BEAT - 05/26/08 10:31 PM
Not that it is really a bad beat, but I did not expect him to make the call.  Was up against Steve Rassi this weekend in a local poker tourney.  I was short stacked and got 2 tens.  I had the position so I went all in.  The guy next to me immediately calls with a weak hand, and Rassi almost folded, but he did not.  Had an A with a kicker.  He got the Ace on the turn.  I lost.  Did not think pro's made those kind of calls.

Today is a big day and hopefully luck is on my side. 
I am an avid poker player, Texas hold ‘em is my game.  I have been playing, watching, studying and planning for a few years now.  I just started playing the local tournaments in the last year and have cashed in 4 out of 5 of them.  It is enough that my wife encourages me to play!
So today is a qualifying tourney for a seat at the main event of the World Series of Poker, $10,000 entry fee!  I usually tell people poker is not about luck, but about … (4 comments)

Last week some interesting news came out about housing sales in the U.S.  We have all heard the doom and gloom in the news about housing sales being down and it being a buyers market, well Peoria and Pekin sellers be happy!  We are the number 2 market in the nation!!  Our home prices are up 10.4%!  The average price of a home is $119,000.  What does that mean to us, it means our economy is surviving better than most of the nation.

It's mushroom season in Central Illinois. 
For mushroom hunters this is a highly anticipated time of the year.  Morel mushrooms are a premium mushroom.  They rank with truffles, chanterelles and boletes.  Many in the area seek out these minute morsels for sport, their flavor is phenomenal.  Mushroom hunting is almost a sport; however, try to get the avid hunter to tell about his or her favorite are to find these treasures!  It has always been a closely guarded secret passed on only to the closest of family and friends.
Spring is here and the mushrooms are a poppin'!!!!

Ok so here is my idea for a unique closing gift. 
I am a woodworker.  It is a hobby that I do not have enough time for.  For my birthday, my wife and kids got me everything I need to make my clients pens for closing.  I plan to give it to them before the closing so they can use their new gifts to sign all the documents.  I have been saying I was going to do this and now I can make it happen!  As I type this, I have two blanks gluing up in my shop.  I hope it … (4 comments)
