Many of you are aware that yesterday was test day for the FAA Part 107 "Remote Pilot Unmanned Aircraft System".
I'm very pleased to announce that both Suzanne and I passed with "flying colors" (pun intended).
The next step is to wait 48 hours to allow our results to make their way to the appropriate databases, then file the "application" for the license.
Once that is filed, we will be able to print out a temporary certificate, the permanent license takes a few weeks to be issued.
Another big step forward for Sunlit Drones and it's pilots!

Of course there had been plenty of people doing it without regard to the law, some of whom went to the trouble of applying for and receiving an FAA 333 Exemption, then promptly ignored one of the stipulations in the letter granting the exemption, that if the recipient of the exemption was not a licensed pilot, then they had to have a licensed pilot present as PIC (Pilot In Command) for any commercial drone work.
