Our beloved Great Blue Herons have returned home. - 02/28/11 07:05 AM
Spring is just around the corner and just like this time every year our beloved Great Blue Herons have returned home to the Cuyahoga Valley National Park. Watching and photographing the Herons is a popular attraction in this area and there is a Great Heron viewing spot located on Bath Road between Akron Peninsula Road and Riverview Road. This herony has seen up to 176 nests in a single season. Each year the Herons return to this spot and a few others nearby. In February, the males come and claim their nest. In the next couple of weeks the females will (5 comments)
Snow Day - AGAIN? - 02/25/11 07:03 AM
Here in Northeast Ohio we've had just about enough winter this year! Where's that @#&* groundhog? With spring supposed to have been just around the corner some three weeks ago we still seem to keep getting dumped on. Of course the kids don't mind.......today is their second snow day this week.
In the meantime, the out of town client I have been working with all week is starting to give me looks that make me wonder if they are beginning to question the sanity of this relocation. It does not help when we arrive at a showing appointment and (10 comments)
Are Barking Dogs Killing Your Sale? - 02/24/11 10:19 PM
Ouch! Nothing says “Get out of my house” faster than a non-stop barking dog that’s either behind closed doors or in a pet crate. I took a client through a home today and as soon as we entered we were greeted by the sound of non-stop barking. The dogs – two of them – were in a room off the foyer that had a glass door so we could see the room, and they could see us.
The barking made it very difficult to conduct a professional showing of the house. Sellers need to remove the (9 comments)
In honor of Presidents Day I wish to share some of my favorite quotes from Abraham Lincoln:
“America will never be destroyed from the outside. If we falter and lose our freedoms, it will be because we destroyed ourselves.” “Give me six hours to chop down a tree and I will spend the first four sharpening the axe.” “If I were two-faced, would I be wearing this one?” “The best thing about the future is that it comes one day at a time.” “Things may come to those who wait, but only the things left by those who hustle.” (4 comments)
In honor of Presidents Day I wish to share some of my favorite quotes from George Washington: “My first wish is to see this plague of mankind, war, banished from the earth. “ “It is better to offer no excuse than a bad one.” “Worry is the interest paid by those who borrow trouble. “ “Few men have virtue to withstand the highest bidder. “ “If, to please the people, we offer what we ourselves disapprove, how can we afterward defend our work?” “Labor to keep alive in your breast that little spark of celestial fire, called conscience.”

Blossom Music Center is an amphitheatre with pavilion seating for 5,700 people and space for about 13,500 more on the lawn. Over the years we have enjoyed many fine concerts there from Pink Floyd to the Cleveland Orchestra (1 comments)
