Each of these homes has been listed at what we consider to be a pretty good price, although the 4 bedroom home in South Willow is a short sale, and we can't vouch for the fact that it can be bought for the listing price. You've all heard the term 'long, cold winter'. Well, for those of us in the Real Estate industry, that winter has gone on a for a few years now. I should say, those of us STILL in the industry, as more than a few of us have left to pursue other interests. Interests like making a living, putting food on the table, etc.

Greetings, and welcome to 2012! This is the time of year of making resolutions, breaking resolutions and all kinds of other monumental decisions. But, perhaps most importantly, it’s the end of the college football “bowl season”, culminating with tonight’s BCS Championship between LSU and Alabama.
However, as much as I love college football and hate the wholly corrupt BCS system (that will likely be my only shot at them!), this post will have little to do with the games and will instead be focused on one of the “extracurricular” activities that go with them. It may be hard to believe, but I often struggle to find something to say! I'm talking about subjects to write about, since my interests are often kindly considered to be slightly off by my friends and family. So, you'd think that a New Year would lend itself to easy material, as everyone is talking resolutions, goals etc. So, to be contrary, I haven't written any such stuff for public consumption. Here in Tooele Country, it won't be "Black Friday", it's "Bright Friday"!
I live in a great town. Especially if you like that combination of "small town" lifestyle that isn't too far away from the big city for those really important things, like big screen, 3-D movies, or good Italian food.
Tooele County borders Salt Lake County, but contrary to popular opinion, that's where most similarities end. We don't exactly roll up the sidewalks at dark, but they definitely aren't crowded. Even though the County has nearly 60k residents, it's still pretty rural. I love that, and probably won't ever leave.

Yes way! You might be able to buy a Tooele Home for $100 down with a 600 credit score. HUD announced this week a new program to get folks into a home with very little down, in select areas of the Country, and you can't get more select than Tooele County! Normally, a buyer has to come to the table with 3.5% down payment, something not always easy to accomplish.

We've all had one. The one that's in a "bad" location. Or the condition is horrible. Or the lot is shaped funny. Can't be financed. Seller unreasonable on price. There could be any number of reasons why a property doesn't sell.
We had a listing on just such a property. It's in the Pine Canyon area, kind of between Tooele and Stansbury Park. Not really a bad location, as properties on the market here are few and far between, and when they come up, they're gone! Life outside Tooele County? From me? Say it ain't so! Well, apparently it's true.
Berna and I took this weekend to start a new tradition. I've written before about our annual spring "roady". With autumn in the air, we decided to add a second trip. Three couples left Tooele on Saturday evening on our motorcycles. After a day and a half, seven Counties, and several hundred miles, all three couples returned safely.

Growing up in a small town like I did, I had the chance to experience this stuff early and often. Park City always had their "Days" around Labor Day, and the stuff going on was sensory overload for a kid, starting with being awakened by a dynamite blast at 6am! A day spent watching real old-time hard rock miners having "mucking" and drilling contests, plus the traditional rugby game between Park City and the Dead Goat Saloon are memories I cherish to this day.

Obviously, anyone that's read me before, knows that I feel very strongly that the two subjects are very closely related. I've spent enough time involved in both to see the connection. I also see how it might not be obvious to everyone. Some of this may seem remedial. Some of it may seem hopelessly convoluted. Hopefully, something will stick!
