tooele transcript bulletin: 2011 in the rearview mirror, 2012 in the windshield! - 01/06/12 02:28 PM
It may be hard to believe, but I often struggle to find something to say! I'm talking about subjects to write about, since my interests are often kindly considered to be slightly off by my friends and family. So, you'd think that a New Year would lend itself to easy material, as everyone is talking resolutions, goals etc. So, to be contrary, I haven't written any such stuff for public consumption. Until now! Anyone that's familiar with me or with this blog knows of my love/hate relationship with the Tooele Transcript-Bulletin, and if you read the paper you probably are aware

I'm sure you've seen it before. Two great friends, or maybe relatives get into an argument. It escalates into a full on feud. People start calling each other names, other folks take sides. It gets nasty and personal and stays nasty and personal. The folks involved don't speak to each other, and pretty soon you're dealing with your version of the Hatfields and McCoys. After awhile, no one can even remember what the original fight was about, or if they do, it's so different from what the other remembers as to be impossible to fix. For the last 10 years, we've

The Tooele Transcript Bulletin seems to be figuring out that real estate is a big deal in Tooele County. They are also figuring out that real estate isn't just the (not so) simple matter of buying and selling homes. An article in last nights Transcript-Bulletin calls to mind a spirited conversation last month with an individual who believes that the recent Federal land use policy of designating areas as "wild lands" or as a National Monument without local input doesn't have anything to do with Tooele County real estate, it became obvious that some basic economics education is sometimes needed for
