Some call this the slow season, some are even calling it the "no" season as they have a total lack of business.  Hard to imagine when I have had 2 second showings on listings in the past 3 days.  Buyers are out there...but sellers are nervous about entering 2008 with over 45 days on market. But why?  The media has overwhelmed us with the gloom and doom of the housing market.  Some economists believe that the market will bounce back in mind- 08, some in 09 and some even predict that it's going to stabilize.  But we are the ones in the driver seat that can aid in leading the way to a market stabilization.

Price it right, market it right and be flexible in scheduling appointments and you will sell more property.  I was appalled to have an agent recently tell me that a particular home could only be shown Tues and Thurs between 10 Am and 1 PM.  Really?  Sounds like we need some seller re-education here.  Flexibility and creativity are going to pave the path to a sustainable future in real estate, so start making your 2008 business plan and begin the new year right.

Happy Holidays and Happy Market for 2008!

If I had a nickel for every time I was asked, "what's up with this market" I could retire. Ok, not really. But I would be able to buy a pack of gum, maybe 3. My usual response is, "what do you mean? " and it is conveyed with… more
