Don't Forget About the Silent Killer - 11/15/10 07:59 PM
Here in Virginia Beach and around most of the country we are moving into the heating season. This time of the year it is important to be reminded about the SILENT KILLER. You can’t see or smell carbon monoxide (CO), but at high enough levels it can kill a person in minutes and lower levels can cause severe illness. Even though carbon monoxide alarms were not required by code for new homes until 2009, the lack of a CO detector is something that I will put in every Virginia Beach home inspection report that I produce. Safety trumps code
