ohio: Terms for First Time Home Buyers to Know - 07/22/11 07:07 AM
This is a reblog, Jerry Newman put together this great list of terms for first time home buyers to know.  The only thing I might add if I were writing this is my "nickname" for Earnest Money - I call it "Put your money where your mouth is" money.  I'm sure we've all heard the saying, "Money talks, ******** walks".

ohio: Garden Pond Enjoyment - 06/26/11 01:38 PM

This is our little garden pond.  It was my husband's idea, although his dream is to have a big pond.  I don't know if we'll ever manage to have a big pond, so for now, this is his "baby".  We dug the pond last summer and it's been a work in progress ever since.  We wanted some fish, but we knew from our past experience with aquariums that new fish usually don't live.  So we got the cheapest fish at the pet store, feeders.  They were barely moving, I got a lot since I figured they would all die.  It … (13 comments)

Licking County Plat Maps are easily accessed online. You could go to the Engineer's Website to access Tax Maps, but you'll end up with something like this,  which is all of Licking County. From here, you would have to zoom in a little at a time and hope you can find the right plat. The simplest way to find a specific plat map, is to start out at The Official Site of Licking County, Ohio, hover over the Administrative tab and a menu will appear, choose Auditor.

ohio: A day "off" - 05/14/11 04:32 PM
It doesn't really matter whether it's a weekday or the weekend, a work day can appear suddenly. We real estate agents might think we're going to have a day off, but when a client asks to see a house for sale, I'm sure I'm not the only one who will give up what I thought was going to be a day off.I returned phone calls and then went up to Utica to show a couple of houses, we looked at a HUD home and a bank owned listing. While in Utica, I drove by another property that a different buyer had … (6 comments)

ohio: Free Water Day! - 05/03/11 06:00 AM
Rainy days can be so gloomy, and they often make me want to sleep! Here in Licking County (Ohio), we had entirely too much rain in April, the news reports that we had just 6 dry days! My mother in law said there are ducks living in the "pond" at her church. I've seen quite a few pop up ponds around here lately, and it's easy to complain about too much rain.My sister in law in Mich. posted on Facebook the other day that it was "Free Water Day". What a wonderful attitude to have about a rainy day! Why not … (0 comments)
