Absorption Rate Chart for Northern Colorado - 05/27/08 03:58 PM
Below is a chart that shows that absorption rate for homes in the Northern Colorado Area.  If you compare the First Quarter of 2007 with the First Quarter of 2008 - Fort Collins and Greeley were only down 1% while Loveland is down 2% and Windsor 13%.

'Epidemic' Destroying Colorado Forests - 05/09/08 12:57 PM
Within five years the federal and state forestry official warns that the lodgepole pine trees in northern Colorado and the Front Range will be completely wiped out.  The reason for these is an unprecedented infestation by mountain pine beetles.
Since the infestation started in 1996, more than one million acres of the state's high-latitude forests had been destroyed - half a million acres was destroyed just last year.  The affected counties are Boulder, Larimer, Gilpin, Chaffee, Clear Creek and Lake.

Compared to the rest of the nation Colorado's home prices remained steady.  Of course, Grand Junction took the lead and was the only metropolitan area in Colorado to score in the top 20 on the Office of Federal Housing Enterprise Oversight list of appreciation rates.  Even more good news is that none of Colorado Metropolitan areas ranked in the bottom 20of the 291 MSAs.  Below is a chart of how Colorado fared:

We have all seen the the little blue energy star label on all sort of products - From light bulbs, kitchen appliances, washer & dryers to even TVs. So it was only a matter of time until we had them on the houses as well.  To date, there are more than 5,000 home builders have partnered with EPA.  This means that there are more than 840,000 ENERGY STAR qualified homes. The past couple of years the skies over the Greeley area have been metaphorically cloudy when it comes to the economy and home sales.  But as the seasons change so does the outlook for Greeley!    Greeley & Weld County is starting to see improvement!

I am sure you are sick of seeing the price of everything growing and growing!  Gas, groceries, and now STAMPS.  The postal service has decided as of May 12th the stamp will increase to 42 cents.
While the most visible change is the 1-cent increase for First-Class Mail letters, the changes are broader and include prices that could save when shipping packages:
