From Nubricks, the Overseas Property Blog, Dec. 2008: http://www.nubricks.com/archives/1543/russians-seeking-overseas-homes/ "As Russians continue to search for the best ways to invest their new-found wealth, holiday homes abroad have become a favourite way to diversify their portfolios. The current global financial crisis may be affecting property markets around the world but it is not affecting Russian interest in investing overseas. "Russian overseas investment has traditionally been centred in western Europe and the Mediterranean which are geographically close to home. Lately, southern European markets like Cyprus, Bulgaria, Turkey, Croatia and Montenegro have become extremely popular with Russian buyers. A recent New York Times article

Reports from across newspapers and many websites confirm that the Russians don't intend to stop soon with their overseas property buying activities. "While they too feel the global crisis it doesn't seem to affect them as hard. Opportunities in Panama, Brazil and the Dominican Republic give Russian buyers plenty of fodder to invest their dollars in. "Similar action can be seen in Southern European markets such as Cyprus, Bulgaria, Turkey,

Moscow On Hudson - 12/15/08 07:08 PM
From the Newsweek Magazine, Nov. 2008: http://www.newsweek.com/id/166938 "A plummeting ruble and a frozen stock market (trading in Moscow was once again suspended last week) mean that rich Russians are desperate to move their remaining money abroad. How to be the First on Google - continued - 12/10/08 11:49 AM
A bit more about website optimization. The site building/hosting/promoting service that I use for my site provides me with the regular info on my site (per page) positioning with the Big 4 - Google, Yahoo, MSN Live and Ask. It's very interesting to see them all together. An example: if you search for Russian real estate portals, my page "Top 10 Russian Real Estate Portals" will appear #1 in Yahoo, #1 in MSN Live, #21 in Google and wouldn't show up in Ask at all. Why so? It has been properly optimized for the search phrase "Russian

From International Herald Tribune, the Global Edition of the New York Times: http://blogs.iht.com/tribtalk/properties/roof/?cat=20 "LONDON-The conference program at this week's OPPLive property show spoke volumes about the new focus of the industry. No more whining about the financial crisis; now the spotlight is on "Adapting to the credit crunch consumer," "PR Strategies to attract Russian buyers" and "Alternative funding sources for developers." "The good times are officially over," read one cheery advertisement for the annual show, which was launched in the U.K. four years ago, at the height of the good times. "For property shows like OPPLive, which focus on estate agents
