Let’s just tie into the plumbing in the next room!
I had to clean up my hands in a local commercial building today, got a surprise plumbing lesson while in there. Apparently they added a small sink in the break room and figured that they could just run a new drain line into the restroom. It is a creative idea.
Drizzling rain in the morning made for a sloppy, muddy day of concrete demolition and form board setting in Cameron Park for this general contractor. As the morning progressed, the sun finally poked its way through the clouds and we got some dry weather before the end of the day.
Who do I call to get the rotted wood repaired on my Cameron Park home?
It is not uncommon for homes in El Dorado County to have wood rot, yours may be one of them. The repairs can be swift and inexpensive if detected early and corrected. If nothing else, call someone to get an estimate for the cost of repairs You may want to hire a licensed contractor that has the proper insurance, just to be safe. A contractor with experience in the repair of dry rot and water damage can (2 comments)

Shingle Springs / Cameron Park Chamber of Commerce Moves to a New Location
The Chamber of Commerce in Cameron Park is so recent; the Wells Fargo Bank signs are still on the building. That’s has not deterred the move though, the new location is open for business. The Chamber is located at: 4095 Cameron Park Drive, Cameron Park, CA 95682

Not everyone can visualize what a new concrete sidewalk will look like before a concrete is installed. In a recent concrete job, I had access to the stairwell above the area where the sidewalk was needed. By taking a few photos from above, it was easier to draw out what the layout was going to look like. I had a chance to show how many of the plants could be saved. Some were trimmed back and one removed. It would have been too hard for the manager to see where (16 comments)
Looking to pour some concrete in Cameron Park before the rain.
Today we were able to get a small area of landscaping clear out to make room for a walkway in Cameron Park, CA. Several plants were cut back and one removed to clear a path for a new concrete path from an apartment front door to the common walkway.
When clearing the area for the new concrete, it is important that care is taken in looking for buried irrigation, electrical and drain lines. I is always a good idea to contact USA (Underground Service Alaert) to come (10 comments)
Using Drainage Rock To Move Water Away From Apartment Building In Cameron Park.
There are a number of apartment communities in the Sacramento area that are in need of keeping water away from the bottom of the building. This water can cause dry rot and water damage that can be avoided with drainage rock. The terrain around the building may prevent slopping the soil away from the structure. Communities with building at different elevations may be forced to use an alternate method. Drainage rock can be used to divert the water away safely. The secret is to dig a (24 comments)
The need for blood can only be satisfied by the donations of others. Science has not come up with a way of making a solution that can be used in its place. There is a constant demand for blood donations year round, with a peak demand in both the winter and summer. Whole blood has a shelf life of 42 days, so blood cannot be collected in advance for these slow donation months. In Placerville and Cameron Park, the Delta Blood Bank is always in need of donors willing to give blood. It is (10 comments)
I was curious about the local Apartment rental trends in the Cameron Park, CA area. It is a small community, but the data that is collected by Apartment Ratings seem to be helpful. It does not reflect the vacancies in the area, but the rents do change depending on the demand to live in the area.
What I did notice was that the price of the three bedroom units has dropped the last few years. There are not many units of the size so a shift in price can affect the graph (3 comments)
Water Leak Emergency Requires Immediate Action by Contractor
Water leak emergencies happen in apartment communities, and can affect more than one unit. Immediate action by a contractor can mean the difference in the amount of damage that occurs. The longer it takes to correct the source of the problem and remove the damage, the greater the loss of property. We got a call from an apartment manager in Cameron Park stating that there was a leak in a vacant unit, the refrigerator water supply line was dripping and running down the wall. There were no signs of a leak (8 comments)
According to Wikipedia, Erosion is the process by which soil and rock are removed from the Earth's surface by natural processes such as wind or water flow, and then transported and deposited in other locations.
This photo was taken in an apartment community in Cameron Park. There were cracks in the sidewalk, areas that had washed out and sank, and areas that have become a "trip hazard".
If the soil near your sidewalk, driveway, or foundation is eroding, you may have a problem in the future. In the photo, the soil has been washing (6 comments)
Is it too early to be talking about fireworks in Cameron Park?
If you have never seen the fireworks display in Cameron Park, I hope you get a chance this year. The annual event happen at the Cameron Park Lake located at Cambridge Road. The fireworks are actually launched from a small barge on the water. The synchronized display is the finality of the day long festivities. The day begins at 2:00 pm with an evening filled with great musical entertainment, food and craft exhibitors, and contests at the Cameron Park Summer Spectacular.
If the same water damage recurs, then the water damage problem was never corrected properly. Sure, the damage may have been removed and new material put in its place, but the problem still exists. So don’t have the same repair done again. It is important that the contractor or handyman that you hire understands why this sort of thing happens. Where is the water getting in? Is the flashing installed correctly? Are the windows leaking? These and many more questions need to be asked by the repair person if he/she (10 comments)

Do you have oak trees near your house? Have you noticed that the gutters have corroded rather quickly? Your oak trees are filled with oak galls containing tannin. Tannin is a very corrosive liquid when mixed with water, forming tannic acid that will eat through metal. Seriously. In a relatively short period of time, your gutters could look like this.
This photo was taken in Cameron Park; if you are experiencing a similar problem, contact a contractor in your area. If you are in the El Dorado County, Sacramento County, or Placer (10 comments)
The 2012 BIG Jumpstart Blog Challenge has forced me to do things that make me uncomfortable. The invitations category made me realize that I haven’t been doing this, I don’t like it. I think that the idea of getting points as a result of inviting someone else leaves a funny feeling in my stomach. Maybe it’s because I still feel new at blogging, and it seems awkward asking someone else to join. I’m not sure. But something happened today. What happened? I got points from inviting someone to join. (14 comments)
