Ever since the announcement of the Big Movie Contest, it seems that all of ActiveRain is getting ready for the event. Some will be watching with popcorn and snacks, others returning for nominations, and the always welcomed newcomer. When I think of all the projects that I loved being a part of over my career, I think of many. All the special people who I have been able to help in some way to brighten their home, help financially, or even a trouble-free transaction. Many of these include those that are elderly, there is much to be said about caring for that group. This post is not about those projects. I love my home, it sits in a wonderful horse property community called Greenstone Country and is very peaceful. It is not that we are 100 miles from civilization but sometimes it seems that we. We live on a quiet road, a couple hundred feet from the end so there is no through traffic and only one neighbor on that side of our property. When I first got to ActiveRain, I did read the Guidelines but it wasn’t until I re-read them after being here a while that I could see the value of having them. I read them a second time a while back because it was a part of a Challenge just like this one. I got a better appreciation for the importance them.

There is a lot that goes on during the preparation of bringing a home to sale. I’m no agent but I have seen all the work that goes into getting the details done. The signing of the agreement, the photos taken, the research, prepping the home to show well, and the things that make for a smooth and quick sale can all be for not if the communication is not clear. This A Really Big Deal or No Big Deal- An ActiveRain Challenge has allowed me to think back over all the great learning experiences that I have had. We all have them; we learn our greatest lessons through experience. I one that I’d like to focus on here is a Really Big Deal. There is so much in the State of California that could be photographed and be absolutely stunning. The gorgeous coastlines, the majestic mountains, countless streams and rivers, and lakes for recreation and relaxation – all add to the scenic beauty. There are so many things that we could probably change that would help in doing business better but we fight it because we do not like to change. How do you do in the Getting Healthy in the Rain Challenge? I liked the idea of doing something to get healthier and a Challenge was probably a great idea to get that kick start that I needed. I have a problem with sleeping – I don’t do it. Not literally of course, but I get by on some very limited number of hours.

I did not participate in the original challenge back in February of 2011. I was not yet an active Rainmaker and had only a limited number of days on ActiveRain. I do remember seeing the original challenge and thought, “this doesn’t apply to my trade”.
