Do You Really Think I Would Say That Medical Tape Would Be An Okay Repair For That Hole In The Tub?
You never know what will be said by those that are moving out of an apartment. This can intensify when the move-out is an eviction, or there is extensive damages, or unpaid rents. Tenants will look to blame someone else for their bad behavior, even the contractor. There was a downstairs unit that became vacant as the staff began making arrangements for the “turn”. It is at this time that I get calls for help in repairing things (24 comments)
You have got to find a general contractor who cares about your project. If he doesn’t have a great concern for making the best of your situation, find someone who will. Your project needs to be the top priority through the end.
Early in the Folsom water damage repair project, things can look a bit overwhelming. There will be damaged materials, discolored surfaces, and maybe even some dry rot involved; all of this can be corrected by a water damage repair professional. It is important to get the source of the water damage repaired to prevent further damage to the materials. This may be a leaking water pipe, cracked drain line, or moisture seeping in from the outside weather. No matter the source, the moisture needs to be stopped before a successful repair (6 comments)
Will my dry rot damage repair be covered under my homeowners’ insurance policy?
In Sacramento, we see dry rot repairs that can be very costly to bring back to its original integrity. It doesn’t mean that, as general contractors, we overcharge to do these dry rot repairs, it just take some time to get to and repair the rotted wood. Not all of the repairs are surface trim boards that we do can be easily reached. The repair calls that we get usually are inside walls, floors roofs and other hidden areas. Many homeowners choose to ignore areas (13 comments)
Sacramento General Contractor Helps with Signs of Water Leak – Part 2
We got a better understanding in the first post about the Signs of Water Leak of how and why water can get trapped between the drywall and paint in the ceiling under a water leak. There are other signs of water leaks that are similar to the first. Let’s look at the next one. Water will travel in the seams of the drywall. If we look at “B” in the photo, we can see straight raised line. In this Sacramento bathroom, there is a drywall seam below (8 comments)
I’ve been setting some floor tiles; it seems that they are getting much bigger the last couple of years. When will it end, even the tile spacers are getting to be pretty heavy.

Don’t wait for the big, expensive water damage to happen when the little signs of water intrusion have started. Water damage can come in many forms, a broken water supply line, frozen pipes, or even a leaking dishwasher. But the water problems that can be the most troublesome are the leaks that happen slowly and gradually get worse. The slow leaks can often times create mold and rot because is has been moist for a very long period of time. These are the moisture areas that are important to find. It (42 comments)
Even Alice needed so help around the house. I’m not talking about the day to day duties, she did every episode. I’m talking about things like plumbing drains that weren’t flowing correctly. Alice can’t always do all the things that are necessary around the house, she needs help. We all need help.
If you need help around your house, don’t be afraid to ask. If you are in the Sacramento area, call us. Got a question about something? Call Tromler Construction! (4 comments)
I first heard about Yelp a while back. I check out the web site and thought I'd give the free site a whirl. I approach many such sites the same way; sign up, kick the tires, and see how it can work for my business. I was getting some random hits in the first few months, but I wasn't actively pushing anything. The site does not want its members to ask there client for reviews. They feel that the client who logs in on there own, or who is directed to the site can make their own decisions about whether (2 comments)
They are not the most unique marketing tool, but I like them. I ordered a bunch of pens with my information on them that felt comfortable, gel type. I hand them out (when I remember) to people I meet. Unusually someone asks to borrow a pen. I then tell them to "go ahead and keep it". I'm not good at handing them out as I should. So... if we were to meet, remind me to get you one. Here is a peek.
Keywords are important and this video will show why. This is a short video of a job that I needed to send to the owner upon completion. I posted to YouTube to show the client, I expected a handful of views since it was not posted anywhere. Because I used some words that were being searched in YouTube, this video would appear as a suggested video. Before I knew it the views were in the hundreds! I added some annotations to "ride this pony" and have gotten some extra mileage from it. The lesson learned? When making (4 comments)
The idea of marketing on the internet was strange at first. So many different sites and networking groups to choose from, and a lot to learn. But by jumping in and checking it out, things got a little easier. The more a did, the more I tried new things. The one thing that is clear today, is this.... If you market yourself in a bunch of different places people will find you. I'm not talking about the people who are looking for you specifically, they probably can already find you. I want the guy who has a dry rot (8 comments)
It is in our best interest to help inform the client about their possible future damage. We realize that the property is owned by them, it is their asset not ours. The best that we can do is educate them and perform any work to the best of our ability. You ever have a client make a decision that you felt was not the best choice? How do you respond to this?
