The Breast Cancer site is having trouble getting enough people to click on their site daily to meet their quota of donating at least one free mammogram a day to an underprivileged woman. It takes less than a minute to go to their site and click on "donating a mammogram" for free (pink window in the middle).

What are your "Seven Wonders of the World"?

A group of students were asked by their teacher to list what they thought were the present "Seven Wonders of the World." Though there were a few disagreements, the following received the most votes:

-Egypt's Great Pyramids
-The Taj Mahal
-The Grand Canyon
-The Panama Canal
-The Empire State Building
-St. Peter's Basilica
-China's Great Wall

While gathering the votes, the teacher noted that one student had not finished and turned in her answers. So she asked the girl if she was having trouble with her list.

The little girl replied, "Yes, a little. I could not quite make up my mind because there are so many." The teacher asked her to tell the class what she had and maybe they could help her with her thoughts.

The little girl hesitated, then read:

"I think the seven wonders of the world are:

-To Hear

-To Touch

-To Feel

-To Laugh

-And to Love"

The room was so quiet that you could hear a pin drop.

Ice Cream for the Soul...

A friend of my mother's sent this to me this morning...
Not only do we need to teach our kids, but we need to learn from our kids as well!

Last week, I took my children to a restaurant. My six-year-old son asked if he could say grace.

As we bowed our heads he said, "God is good, God is great. Thank you for the food, and I would even thank you more if Mom gets us ice cream for dessert. And Liberty and justice for all! Amen!"

Along with the laughter from the other customers nearby, I heard a woman remark, "That's what's wrong with this country. Kids today don't even know how to pray. Asking God for ice cream! Why, I never!"

Hearing this, my son burst into tears and asked me, "Did I do it wrong? Is God mad at me?"

As I held him and assured him that he had done a terrific job, and God was certainly not mad at him, an elderly gentleman approached the table.

He winked at my son and said, "I happen to know that God thought that was a great prayer."

"Really?" my son asked.

"Cross my heart," the man replied.

Then, in a theatrical whisper, he added (indicating the woman whose remark had started this whole thing), "Too bad she never asks God for ice cream. A little ice cream is good for the soul sometimes."

Naturally, I bought my kids ice cream at the end of the meal. My son stared at his for a moment, and then did something I will remember the rest of my life.

He picked up his sundae and, without a word, walked over and placed it in front of the woman. With a big smile he told her, "Here, this is for you. Ice cream is good for the soul sometimes; and my soul is good already ."

Dear Abby... (Funny)

Dear Abby,

I've never written to you before, but I really need your advice.

I have suspected for some time now that my wife has been cheating on me.
The usual signs; phone rings but if I answer, the caller hangs up. My wife has been going out with "the girls" a lot recently although when I ask their names she always says, "Just some friends from work, you don't know them."

I always try to stay awake to look out for her coming home, but I usually fall asleep.

Anyway, I have never approached the subject with my wife. I think deep down I just didn't want to know the truth, but last night she went out again and I decided to really check on her.

Around midnight, I decided to hide in the garage behind my golf clubs so I could get a good view of the whole street when she arrived home from a night out with "the girls".

When she got out of the car she was buttoning up her blouse, which was open, and she took her panties out of her purse and slipped them on.

It was at that moment, crouching behind my clubs, that I noticed that the graphite shaft on my driver appeared to have a hairline crack right by the club head.

Is this something I can fix myself or should I take it back to the pro shop where I bought it?

Red Marbles...

RED MARBLES

I was at the corner grocery store buying some early potatoes. I noticed a
small boy, delicate of bone and feature, ragged but clean, hungrily
apprising a basket of freshly picked green peas. I paid for my potatoes but
was also drawn to the display of fresh green peas. I am a pushover for
creamed peas and new potatoes. Pondering the peas, I couldn't help
overhearing the conversation between Mr. Miller (the store owner) and the
ragged boy next to me.

"Hello Barry, how are you today?"

"H'lo, Mr. Miller. Fine, thank ya. Jus' admirin' them peas. They sure look
good."

"They are good, Barry. How's your Ma?"

"Fine. Gittin' stronger alla' time."

"Good. Anything I can help you with?"

"No, Sir. Jus' admirin' them peas."

"Would you like take some home?" asked Mr. Miller.

"No, Sir. Got nuthin' to pay for 'em with."

"Well, what have you to trade me for some of those peas?"

"All I got's my prize marble
here."

"Is that right? Let me see it" said Miller.

"Here 'tis. She's a dandy."

"I can see that. Hmmmmm, only thing is this one is blue and I sort of go
for red. Do you have a red one like this at home?" the store owner asked.

"Not zackley but almost."

"Tell you what. Take this sack of peas home with you and next trip this way
let me look at that red marble". Mr.
Miller told the boy.

"Sure will. Thanks Mr. Miller."

Mrs. Miller, who had been standing nearby, came over to help me. With a
smile ssaid, "There are two other boys like him in our community, all three
are in very poor circumstances. Jim just loves to bargain with them for
peas, apples, tomatoes, or whatever. When they come back with their red
marbles, and they always do, he decides he doesn't like red after all and
he sends them home with a bag of produce for a green marble or an orange
one, when
they come on their next trip to the store."

I left the store smiling to myself, impressed with this man. A short time
later I moved to Colorado, but I never forgot the story of this man, the
boys, and their bartering for marbles.

Several years went by, each more rapid than the previous one. Just recently
I had occasion to visit some old friends in that Idaho community and while
I was there learned that Mr. Miller had died. They were having his
visitation that evening and knowing my friends wanted to
go, I agreed to accompany them. Upon arrival at the mortuary we fell into
line to meet the relatives of the deceased and to offer whatever words of
comfort we could

Ahead of us in line were three young men. One was in an army uniform and
the other two wore nice haircuts, dark suits and white shirts...all very
professional looking. They approached Mrs. Miller, standing composed and
smiling by her husband's casket. Each of the young men hugged her, kissed
her on the cheek, spoke briefly with her and moved on to the casket.

Her misty light blue eyes followed them as, one by one, each young man
stopped briefly and placed his own warm hand over the cold pale hand in the
casket. Each left the mortuary awkwardly, wiping his eyes.

Our turn came to meet Mrs. Miller. I told her who I was and reminded her of
the story from those many years ago and what she had told me about her
husband's bartering for marbles. With her eyes glistening, she took my hand
and led me to the casket.

"Those three young men who just left were the boys I told you about. They
just told me how they appreciated the things Jim "traded" them. Now, at
last, when Jim could not change his mind about color or size....they came
to pay their debt."

"We've never had a great deal of the wealth of this world," she confided,
"but right now, Jim would consider himself the richest man in Idaho ."

With loving gentleness she lifted the lifeless fingers of her deceased husband.
Resting underneath were three exquisitely shined red marbles.

The Moral : We will not be remembered by our words, but by our kind deeds.
Life is not measured by the breaths we take, but by the moments that take
our breath away.

Today I wish you a day of ordinary miracles ~
A fresh pot of coffee you didn't make yourself.
An unexpected phone call from an old friend.
Green stoplights on your way to work.
The fastest line at the grocery store.
A good sing-along song on the radio.
Your keys found right where you left them.

Calculate Your Refrigerator Energy Savings...

Well I read an article in the Los Angeles Times and came across a small article on energy efficient refrigerators.

They spoke of a site www.energystar.gov that is part of the federal Energy Star program.

Specifically the article spoke about what is called the "Refrigerator Retirement Savings Calculator, developed by the U.S. Department of Energy. This calculator can be found at www.energystar.gov/refrigerators .

Simply input your kilowatt-hour rate and model number of your refrigerator for the most accurate energy savings computation.

I enjoy sharing ways to save energy in the home. Sometime soon I hope to put together something that addresses other simple/creative ways to save energy. The new compact flourescent lightbulb to be one of them...

Kitchen Fire Safety Video! Must watch...

Here's something someone shared with me on the proper way to put out a pot
on fire on the stove if you don't have a fire extinguisher.

This is a great video. Everyone should watch it and remember it. When I
was stationed in Charleston Navy base at the Fire Fighting Training school
we would demonstrate this with a deep fat fryer set on the fire field. An
instructor would put on a fire suit and using an 8 oz cup at the end of a
10 foot pole toss water onto the grease fire. The results got the attention
of the students. What happens is the water being heavier than the oil sinks
to the bottom where it instantly becomes superheated. The explosive force
of the steam blows the burning oil up and out. On the open field it became
a thirty foot high fireball that resembles a nuclear blast. Inside the
confines of a kitchen the fire ball hits the ceiling and fills the entire
room. Also do not throw sugar or flour on a grease fire: one cup creates
the explosive force of two sticks of dynamite.

Maya on Oprah...

In April, Maya Angelou was interviewed by Oprah on her 70+ birthday.
Oprah asked her what she thought of growing older.

And, there on television, she said it was "exciting." Regarding body changes, she said there were many, occurring every day...like her breasts.
They seem to be in a race to see which will reach her waist, first.

The audience laughed so hard they cried. She is such a simple and honest woman, with so much wisdom in her words!

Old Age is Like a Bank Account...

A 92-year-old, petite, well-poised and proud man, who is fully dressed each morning by eight o'clock, with his hair fashionably coifed and shaved perfectly, even though he is legally blind, moved to a nursing home today. His wife of 70 years recently passed away, making the move necessary. After many hours of waiting patiently in the lobby of the nursing home, he smiled sweetly when told his room was ready.

As he maneuvered his walker to the elevator, I provided a visual description of his tiny room, including the eyelet sheets that had been hung on his window.

"I love it," he stated with the enthusiasm of an eight-year-old having just been presented with a new puppy.

"Mr. Jones, you haven't seen the room; just wait."

"That doesn't have anything to do with it," he replied.

"Happiness is something you decide on ahead of time. Whether I like my room or not doesn't depend on how the furniture is arranged ... it's how I arrange my mind. I already decided to love it. "It's a decision I make every morning when I wake up. I have a choice; I can spend the day in bed recounting the difficulty I have with the parts of my body that no longer work, or get out of bed and be thankful for the ones that do.

Each day is a gift, and as long as my eyes open, I'll focus on the new day and all the happy memories I've stored away. Just for this time in my life.

Old age is like a bank account. You withdraw from what you've put in.

So, my advice to you would be to deposit a lot of happiness in the bank account of memories! Thank you for your part in filling my Memory bank. I am still depositing." Remember the five simple rules to be happy:

1. Free your heart from hatred.
2. Free your mind from worries.
3 Live simply.
4.. Give more.
5. Expect less.

Mastectomy Hospital Bill in Congress

A mastectomy is when a woman's breast is removed in order to remove cancerous breast cells/tissue. If you know anyone who has had a mastectomy, you may know that there is a lot of discomfort and pain afterwards. Insurance companies are trying to make mastectomies an outpatient procedure. Let's give women the chance to recover properly in the hospital for 2 days after surgery.

A DAY WITHOUT LAUGHTER IS A DAY WASTED!!!

A woman was flying from Seattle to San Francisco. Unexpectedly, the plane was diverted to Sacramento along the way. The flight attendant explained that there would be a delay, and if the passengers wanted to get off the aircraft the plane would re-board in 50 minutes.

Everybody got off the plane except one lady who was blind. A man had noticed her as he walked by and could tell the lady was blind because her Seeing Eye dog lay quietly underneath the seats in front of her throughout the entire flight.

He could also tell she had flown this very flight before because the pilot approached her, and calling her by name, said, "Kathy, we are in Sacramento for almost an hour. Would you like to get off and stretch your legs?" The blind lady replied, "No thanks, but maybe my dog would like to stretch his legs."

Picture this:

All the people in the gate area came to a complete standstill when they looked up and saw the pilot walk off the plane with a Seeing Eye dog! He was also wearing sunglasses.

People scattered. They not only tried to change planes, but they were trying to change airlines!

True story.... Have a great day and remember...

Heaven's Grocery Store

HEAVEN'S GROCERY STORE

I was walking down life's highway a long time ago. One day I saw a sign that read HEAVEN'S GROCERY STORE. As I got a little closer, the door came open wide. And when I came to myself, I was standing inside.

I saw a host of Angels...that were standing everywhere. One handed me a basket and said, "MY CHILD SHOP WITH CARE." Everything a Christian needed was in that Grocery Store. And all that you could not carry - you could come back the next day for more.

First I got some PATIENCE. LOVE was in the same row. Further down was UNDERSTANDING, you need that wherever you go. I got a box or two of WISDOM, a bag or two of FAITH. I just couldn't miss the HOLY SPIRIT for He was all over the place. I stopped to get some STRENGTH and COURAGE to help me run the race. By then, my basket was getting full; but I remembered I needed some GRACE. I didn't forget SALVATION. SALVATION, for that was free! So...I tried to get enough of that, to save both you and me.

Then, I started up to the counter to pay my Grocery Bill, for I thought I had everything to do my MASTER'S WILL. As I went up the aisle, I saw PRAYER, and I just had to put that in, for I knew when I stepped outside, I would run right into sin. PEACE and JOY were plentiful; they were on the last shelf. SONG and PRAISES were hanging near, so I just helped myself.

Then I said to the Angel, "How much do I owe?" He just smiled and said, "Just take them wherever you go." Again I smiled at him and said, "How much do I really owe?" He smiled again and said,

"MY CHILD, JESUS PAID YOUR BILL A LONG, LONG TIME AGO!"

Isn't this supposed to be for Top Producer Software?

Well it doesn't seem that this group is being utilized for the reason it was created. I would really like to get some good blogs on here to discuss and share ways that others are using Top Producer.

I have a feeling some people might misunderstand the title to mean top producer as an agent who produces a lot, rather than Top Producer the Real Estate database management software.

Please let me know when info not pertaining to Top Producer is at least somewhat cleared out and I would love to get involved.

Hope I am not the only person who feels this way. Guess I could always start another group.
