Computer purchases... - 01/29/09 07:53 PM
I've been asked recently about computer purchases:

"I need a new desktop""I need a laptop for XYZ..."

The problem with these questions is that when shopping we try to compare Apples and oranges. When you go shopping for clothes, we make purchases often based on quality, style, fabric, and of course, price. Often times this last one has a lot to do with it (when guys are shopping for clothes) and often times it doesn't matter. Why do people spend $130+ on a pair of Nike shoes, that really do the same thing as the pair of New Balance … (0 comments)

Computer memory - 01/19/09 07:15 PM
If you're ever confused about computer memory, or what people are talking about, here's a little information and hopefully it'll be clear enough to help people understand computer memory a little better.  There are two types of memory in computers. One is hard drive space. This is your file cabinet, and is wholely dependent upon how big your hard drive is. This is often measured in tens of gigabytes (GB). Personal and Professional life... separate or equal? - 01/13/09 05:48 PM
This isn't a question about separating your time between family and work, this is about including your family in your work...

Locking our doors and windows used to be enough to keep people out of our homes and businesses, however now, with electronics, there are plenty of potential leaks in our homes and offices that can allow people in.
It's great that we live in a wonderful "paperless society", however anyone working with contracts knows that's just not true... But what this means is that we have to have a computer. Many of us … (3 comments)

Starting up is half the battle! - 01/08/09 06:09 PM
It's amazing, but true. Starting up is half the battle! While it helps when you know what you're doing, it also really helps when the software works correctly!

I've had a horrible time getting started with activerain due to the fact that the "add associates" button, which is supposed to be right above peoples' picture wasn't there! I was unable to add people and therefore caused activerain to dry up!

Thankfully, with an e-mail to the support staff, I now can add people.
